Why get an MP3 player? A good mobile + 8 gig micro SD card = win.

A mobile used frequently for MP3 players has an extremely short battery life compared to a standalone player.

I have never had a problem with the Sony ones I have used, when using them it is best to convert to the sony format ATRAC.

For it faults I always preferred it to MP3. The benefit is that it compresses files more than MP3 I think if you can find a 20gb sony player you can get about 15,000 songs on it.

I have a SP with media player. It lasts longer than my MP3 player.

Good for you. I have a k800i, and it doesn't. Especially if you use it for things like, y'know, phoning people.

I have a business phone account, not without a reason. _

Just brought a new MP3 player after much shopping around including seriously considering a sony. The newish ones will play MP3 and WMA so you will not need to convert.

Went for the 16gb Zen though and listening to it right now on the train and it's great.

    Mine's full. :D

Plus I can't find that fucking plastic dongle you use to upload music + charge the bastard... Sodding thing :D

I'm half tempted with an iPod Classic just for video + more storage space. And that's comin' from me who thinks the previous iPods sucked cock and looked like geekery for pansies. :D They seem to actually have decent sound, storage and battery life for once...

...or I could just find that plastic dongle...

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

The new Ipod classics are good machines and one of the cheapest per GB (Sound quality through the headphones is supposedly worse than previous versions, not that I've noticed. Although some decent headphones are a must. Itunes sucks piss though, use Media monkey or something else. Battery life is good too.

From what I've heard you just do what everyone else does - throw the shitty white iPod headphones out / on eBay.
