    I've just had a nice cup of tea.

    Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

    I'm having a cup of tea, some tiger bread toasted with jam, and some mini doughnuts with chocolate on one side of them.

    In Scotland, we call this the Day of Woe. There will no doubt be ritualistic burnings later on.

    Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
    Or close the wall up with our English dead.
    In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
    As modest stillness and humility:
    But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
    Then imitate the action of the tiger;
    Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
    Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
    Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
    Let pry through the portage of the head
    Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it
    As fearfully as doth a galled rock
    O'erhang and jutty his confounded base,
    Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean.
    Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
    Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
    To his full height. On, on, you noblest English.
    Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof!
    Fathers that, like so many Alexanders,
    Have in these parts from morn till even fought
    And sheathed their swords for lack of argument:
    Dishonour not your mothers; now attest
    That those whom you call'd fathers did beget you.
    Be copy now to men of grosser blood,
    And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman,
    Whose limbs were made in England, show us here
    The mettle of your pasture; let us swear
    That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;
    For there is none of you so mean and base,
    That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
    I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
    Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
    Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
    Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

    I didn't realise people apart from Daily Mail readers and the BNP really cared about St George's Day. Never really see people making much of a deal about it apart from half-arsed Facebook groups wanting a Bank Holiday for it.

    Definitely not as many people caring as St Patrick's Day either.

    Aw the Sasanachs have a patron saint how quaint.

    Happy St. Georges Day - so when do the festivities begin?

    Grinds my gears, that association. The Irish are allowed St Patrick. The Welsh are allowed St David. The Scots are allowed St Andrew. We're allowed St George, dammit! Even if he was Turkish who never set foot in England. Being patriotic and proud of your country does not make you right wing. In fact, in my eyes, I am proud of our country because of our tolerance, amongst others.

    As it's too early for ale, it's time for a cup of tea accompanied by some toast and Marmite XO.

    Blake's Jerusalem:
    And did those feet in ancient time.
    Walk upon Englands mountains green:
    And was the holy Lamb of God,
    On Englands pleasant pastures seen!

    And did the Countenance Divine,
    Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
    And was Jerusalem builded here,
    Among these dark Satanic Mills?

    Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
    Bring me my Arrows of desire:
    Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
    Bring me my Chariot of fire!

    I will not cease from Mental Fight,
    Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
    Till we have built Jerusalem,
    In Englands green & pleasant Land

    I like the fact that our national saint was a Palestinian, and mixed race, and shared with loads of other countries (Aragon, Catalonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal, and Russia). Very inclusive.

    /drinks tea (from Sri Lanka)

    A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

    English stealing our burds!!!.

    I stuck an England top on my youngest today, and made a special request to the nursery that he paints a red rose to keep his mum happy, as she complains of Patron Saint racism at the nursery.

    St Patrick would kick Saint George's ass...

    He'd start off with a flaming Dragon Punch, then a flurry of Hadokens, followed by a focus-dash-cancel...

    Someone please make a fighting game with Saints Patrick, David, George and the other fella...

    Pfft. St Andrew would come in half-cut and lift up his kilt, spearing you all with his giant knob.
