Managed not to kill myself too much with Snake last night, just gotta learn how to land those damn meteor smashes, the timing is incredibly difficult.

Thingy, you played the adventure much? It's well worth doing for practice.

The AI can't prepare you for my Ganon stance!
  • Deleted user 24 March 2010 14:10:03
We should gang up on you until you use another character :D

    ;_;

I used Pokemon Trainer a lot. It's a work in progress.
  • Deleted user 24 March 2010 14:18:36
Try using Mario, goddamn it's difficult.

I might jump in for an EG game some time. Need to open a few more characters first though - what's the fastest way?

    Subspace.

You could also set up a 1 stock match against the computer and suicide 450 times.

I think I'll try and practice with a new character. What's a good one for being immensely powerful with ultra quick attacks, has superb recovery skills, an excellent defence, is great at a distance and when getting stuck in, is imperious both on ground and in the air and takes 5 minutes to master?

    Wolf
  • Deleted user 24 March 2010 14:46:24
    Master Hand.

    Wolf

    So say the geeks:

    Pros:

    - His speed, range, weight and ability to deal damage are all over-average
    - He can punish mistakes very well
    - His moveset is very good and well balanced
    - He has overall good match-up's
    - He has great air speed and mobility
    - He has a chain, and overall is just a ******.

    Cons:

    - He is easily comboed/Chain grabbed due to his high fall speed
    - His recovery requires patience and smart use
    - He has a hard time KOing opponents

Might give him a go although the hard to KO and smart use of recovery I can see causing me some problems!

By the way, for Thingy and anyone else looking to learn how to use a character, I found this place full of info. It's terribly jargon heavy though.

I use Wolf from time to time. His main drawback is his awkward recovery. He falls quickly and his two recovery options are difficult to grab the ledge with.

Yeah I know. I don't have much time at the minute due to house+mortgage hunting. My band's starting to gig a lot more as well. Rest assured I've not been ignoring the fine ales.

But I've been ignoring the old Wii quite a lot and I wouldn't mind the odd game of Smash Bros and MK.

We got bored of MK and barely play it any more. I wouldn't be surprised if the average play time is down to 500 hours a week now.

Gigs - do tell. Any outside of the greater Sheffield area?

    @BanjoMan:

Oooo, exciting! Coincidentally, we're currently house hunting as well and put an offer in on a place only yesterday. Need to get our current house sold pretty sharpish as well.

Would be good to see you back in the kart my good man - you know the routine.

Yeah, at last. We're playing a couple in London early next month. The Hive (not sure where/what exactly) and a festival at the Old Queen's Head, Islington.

Dates and that on the ol' MySpaz: http://www.myspace.com/petedavidandthepayrollunion
