Not at all the kind if thing I'd normally go and see (especially if I'd realised it was the Champions League Final) , but my Canadian housemate convinced me to go.
Was actually great, managed to get an initially very subdued Albert Hall crowd in the mood and then treated them to a pretty staggering showcase of show(wo)manship, songwriting, singing and all round performance. If I'd known the songs better and they'd been more condusive to live play I'd have probably stretched to a 9.
Much, much more than just the ipod song. -

Public Enemy.
100/10.
Absolutely. Fucking. Brilliant.
My ears are ringing and I've lost my voice.
If you get the chance to see them on this tour... go. Don't ask questions, just go.
How were Edan/APC/Kool Keith? I'm possibly more excited about seeing those three than PE if the truth be told.

Registered 6 years agoPE still have the full band then? See I don't really like bands backing up hip hop acts, seems to send it off into dodgy funk territory a lot of the time. Last time I saw PE at ATP a few years ago with the band I got kinda bored with it.
Yeah I've seen both Edan and Kool Keith before, Edan never fails but KK can be ropey some nights. I managed to miss APC first time around so I'm really looking forward to finally seeing them. -

Really hated them, even though my friend is in one of them. Bland.
Plus I had a fight with my girlfriend afterwards, so that just made the night even more crappy. -

A really old rock place called LOGO in Hamburg. Never heard of it before and I'm not going again. Has no regulars and no style or concept, just a small black building with a stage and a bar in it.espy wrote:

Registered 8 years agoI can't remember the name of the band, but it was at the Barfly in Birmingham this Saturday just gone. They were from Manchester, the singer looked like a chav and was wearing sunglasses inside, the music was dreary and uninspired, the audience almost non existent, yet they were being filmed by about 3 different cameras so I assume they're possibly up and coming.
Anyway, it was pretty much the worst gig I've ever been to.

It would be quite cool to know if a EG'er was sitting (or standing) in the same place as I will be. -

Registered 6 years agoLinkin Park with Queens of the Stone Age supporting. Linkin Park were terrible trivial rubbish althogether. I had forgotten how god damn emo they were. No stage presence and their crowd interaction was woeful. On the massive plus side, Queens were great, although i am somewhat biased in that sense. Oh, some band called coheed and cambria were there. Awful sound set up, terrible music.
6/10 gig, was half full as well. Late night sundays aren't the best time to plan something like that. -
