    Hey guys!

Just got myself a new PS3 and was wondering - because its a blu-ray player ; does the laser actually produce a blue light?

    Cheers!

    NO

edit:/ guess i should say more! lol, you can't change the colour, and even if you could it then wouldn't read discs anymore.

Just wondering if I could maybe put a filter on it; as eventually I'd like to make my PS3 transparent.

    Transparent consoles always look cool.

Was aiming to maybe change the colour to brown.

    Cheers

Sadly the reason it's blue is because it short wave lenth to the red lasers in dvd and cd drives which mean the beam can be focused to thinner beam which is how you then fit more data on the disc.

I got the impression he plans to actually do this as a wind up.

You alway fit a brown light inside the drive so that brown light comes out the disk slot.
