Same, Jon Hopkins I hadn't heard of and I just bought his last two albums. If you like that sort of style, it reminded me of brothomstates (free mix and album) who did demoscene music as Dune / Orange (which is also worth checking out). It's a bit more experimental and minimalist.

Christ, I'd not heard Brothomstates for AGES. He did something on Warp's dance offshoot Arcola that I thought was pretty awesome.

You are all very welcome for the Jon Hopkins tip. Await my next pronouncement with bated breath.

    @monkman76

Pretty Lights Music has some you might like, and it's all free to download. Try Paul Basic, Paper Diamond and maybe SuperVision. Michael Menert and Eliot Lipp are great too, but not like Glitch Mob. Break Science does some nice dubstep, if you go for that.

Could also try Boyz Noize. Terrible name, and nowhere near as consistent as Glitch Mob, but the latest album (Oi Oi Oi) has a few tracks you might enjoy. He does have an annoying Crystal Castles-esque tendency to descend into painful screeching though.

There's also this dude called The Reflecting Skin who released a few really nice brooding tracks a few years ago, but he never did an album and has now disappeared off the face of the planet. Shame.

I did some wordage on The Inheritors:

    / / REVIEW / /

James Holden 'The Inheritors' [Border Community] - "The Inheritors is everything that Holden has been pointing towards with his scant offerings over the last few years, a natural progression from his DJ Kicks mix that saw him indulge in his inspirations rather than a standard piece of dancefloor thwack." >> http://www.inverted-audio.com/james-holden-the-inheritors/

...and it is only after something goes up without the ability to re-edit, that I notice that I want an extra comma or two.

    Gah. I'll get better.

New Blondes album out of nowhere. Nice surprise. Haven't checked it out yet but it's probably pretty good. The same goes for the new Stellar OM Source.

Quite an old one but I'm listening to Ciao! by Tiga at the moment and quite enjoying it.

Hairy, did you check out any of my recommendations from 2 pages back?

Just started on the new BoC album, will give it a few listens :)

If you like the Chase and status kind of sound then checkout the Loadstar album, Future Perfect, some excellent tunes on there.

Yeah. Got a lot of them queued up on a Spotify Playlist and working my way through them. Quite enjoying Subgiant so far - very similar sound to Hybrid. Orbital's Wonky is growing on me too. Not so keen on The Qemists, though.

I'm absolutely not advocating piracy and you should always support artists. But...Moderat II is now available from the usual sources.

Rick Smith's work on the Trance OST is mostly pretty damn good, even the Emili Sande track.

    Delete M-People and it's a winner.

Pitchfork have a full stream of Fuck Buttons - Slow Focus. It's another change of direction for them, a lot more minimalistic with a lot of the dense layers of their previous work stripped away. But it's still a very interesting album, I'm just not sure it's as epic as Tarrot Sport...

Just got sent the new Paul Woolford one on Hotflush. The A is out digitally now and is the better of the two tracks, nice plonky retro rave piano to it. The B is a hammering distorted kick drum workout, that one will only be on the vinyl.

Prefer it to the upcoming Houndstooth Special Request jobbie.

Rather more mainstream than many of the recommendations on here :) but the new(ish) Simian Mobile Disco Live album sounds pretty good on first listen. Bit like old-skool Orbital to my not very educated ears.

Thought this was pretty disappointing and boring. Fuck Buttons with the edges sanded off, which isn't much fun.

youandme's Martin sent me the most gorgeous album I have ever owned. Hand painted cover and delicious smokey vinyl.

I'm recommending it purely for that and him being a lovely fellow, sounds are in here:

I've been listening to a bit of Andy Stott over the last few days, and it's only confirmed what I've been thinking for a while: no one better around at the moment, is there? He's constructed a perfect sound. Can't get enough.

Not at all new, but quite a lot of Oval's late 90s output is being given away for free on his Bandcamp. I grabbed most of the albums a while ago, but just noticed that it's been updated with a few more records. Could be worth keeping an eye on.

It's glitchy noise/ambient stuff, but even if that doesn't sound good to you it's surely worth a download since it's free, right?

London based children's choir cover Crystal Castles 'Untrust Us'. It's utterly brilliant.

    The original.
