Very alien, and not really what you'd expect from the meeting of two techno powerhouses.
    Thanks for the tip.

This might be well known, I have no idea but the Neotokyo OST is awesome and free (or money, up to you).

Loving Joy Orbison's rework of Donell. Beautifully done.

Only just getting round to the Demdike Stare Testpressing series. HOLY HELL. Absolutely fucking brilliant. Hopefully it'll see a non-vinyl release at some point, but it's streaming on Soundcloud.

Earlier work is more enjoyable, than the later work in my opinion. But, hey, it's pretty chill all around.

Shit loads of reports to do at work. Going through mellow bits like Orb's Orblivion and KLF's Chill Out. Some old memories there.

I have a Moritz Von Oswold LP to sift through for review purposes which should also fit in well.

DJ Yoda is doing a 2 hour live AV show on 6Music this evening, starts at 10. Should be interesting.

edit: was a great AV set on the red button (aside from the 5 mins where the video signal dropped) then he premiered the new Cut & Paste (Asian edition) in the second hour.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Oop, it's one of my drive by self pimps...

Last year I played a live gig. I've had the in-the-room recording sitting around since. Finally, I have made it into an album.

    http://binster.bandcamp.com/album/binster-live-northampton-2012

It's free, and I hit bum notes here and there, but give it a gander anyway why not.

EDIT : And here it is in a video :

    Cheers all!

Loads of new albums landing. New stuff from Zomby, Jon Hopkins, Holden and Siriusmo, among others.

I'm going through Holden's album now. It is messy in places, and one moment sounds like it is going to be Tubthumping to start with. There are some choice moments in there though. Certainly not as keenly focused as Idiots.

Yep. It is a bit of an endurance listen. There are four variations on the track Electric Garden in there, three of them popping up in the first four tracks. If you are not in the mood to sit and be hypnotised, then you might get a bit restless.

Not impressed with Holden's new one, and Zomby's With Love is all over the place. But Jon Hopkins' Immunity is fucking excellent.

There's a new album from The Black Dog as well, it's tolerable for techno.

Jon Hopkins is ace. I'm guessing we're all fans of the Monsters soundtrack here?

By all accounts that Atkins/Oswald thing is exhausting, and not in a good way. I didn't want to say anything in case it put you off :D

Got the Jon Hopkins album but haven't got round to it yet.

The new EP by Diamond Version is very good. I haven't heard any of the other four, so I don't know how it compares. Impressed though.

Zomby is a weird one. I haven't heard his new one, but a look at the tracklist suggests it's a bunch of sketches, which had pretty variable results on Dedication. A double album too...

The recent Miles EP is fantastic and actually better than Faint Hearted, which is weird considering how close the releases were.

Like the Pharmakon album, but that's more on the noise end of things and not really for the faint of heart.

I couldn't even make it through Until the Quiet Comes, found it really boring. It was like he'd magnified the worst aspects of Cosmogramma, i.e. the soft jazz parts. Los Angeles is a bit of a modern classic though, IMO.

If you want to find some great. new electronic music, I would suggest Discothrill's Youtube channel. A nice mix of funk/dance/nu-disco. If you're into Breakbot or Daft Punk (especially their newest album), there's a fantastic selection of tracks. Well, except when they put up a David Guetta song on April Fool's :p

Whoa, more love for Immunity here. I've loved Hopkins since Insides, but this is something else entirely, whilst remaining true to his sound and classical training. Could be a classic album itself, but I need a few more listens to be sure.

I was a bit on the forgiving side as it was my first thing to go over for Inverted Audio and I listened to it while I was doing a lot of walking and dreary PC work!

It does need to mix it up a bit, I mean the first 5 tracks work as a sequence and 3 of them are Electric Garden. I think two of them could be ditched and suddenly you have a much more focused and enjoyable listen.

Spent the last week trying to sort iTunes on a Mac from a NAS... failing and only just getting it copied locally instead. A right battle to try and sort my unmitigated mess of tracks. So while that has been going on, nothing has been getting moved to my phone.

I keep getting John Hopkins and John Roberts mixed up!

Thanks whoever recommended The Glitch Mob - Drink The Sea a few pages back. Really like that.

What else could I try that's along those lines? Big crunchy beats, slightly dark feel. Not really into drum'n'bassy type stuff.

Thanks to whoever mentioned Hopkins - listening to Immunity right now and pretty much pressed 'buy' the instant I heard the opening notes.
