Upcoming Sandwell District Fabric 69 is immense. Caned it repeatedly last week and up there with Ben Klock's for best Techno entry so far.

Just about fell off my seat when I saw the tracklist. When's it out?

    22nd April I think.

Love the intro, intricate weaving of tracks with barely a 4/4 kick to its name... starts gathering speed and the key moments are when massive tracks like Darkness and Motion The Dance kick in. Love it!

I should be getting a techno fill tomorrow too. Ostgut Ton @ Victoria Warehouse, Manchester - Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Answer Code Request, Scuba, Steffi, Nick Hoppner, Ryan Elliot, Barker & Baumecker. Which is mind blowing.

    New Knife album streaming

At the very least it should be 'interesting'.

I'm utterly addicted to DJ Koze's new album, Amygdala, at the moment.

Beta Birmingham's 3rd album "Council Pop" - free to download, wash your ears out.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Given this two listens today. 'Interesting' is pretty apt... A Tooth For an Eye and Full of Fire are great... probably why they were the two singles. The rest of the album is a little too all over the place really. Each song seems to be a miss mash of different ideas that are thrown together without any real thought.

It's a shame because Silent Shout was a superb album and I was kind of hoping for something equally good from this, sadly that doesn't seem to be the case.

Would Chvrches fit in this genre? I find the billions of genres and sub-genres confusing at best :)

I'm pretty sure Joey Lowstep fits though, if you like it, then you can get a load of tracks for the price of a facebook 'like'.

I think Shaking the Habitual is fundamentally really good, it just needs an edit. I'm struggling to imagine the case for any album being 98 minutes long (apart from The Seer).

Yeah it's nice to see them moving away from the style of music they became popular for... and now every band looking to come across as being edgy replicates. But yeah it's a very bloated album

Twisted and delicious. You need and end to end listening to appreciate though.

@RobTheBuilder First time for me, I haven't been in the Manchester scene at all for one reason or another... starting to try and get into it.

Just came back from much drink and food in the Northern Quarter Takeover and attempting to cook ribs. Should be fun!

@RobTheBuilder good nights too, idiosync and Selective Hearing manage to cover all the house/techno/bass aspect of things, plus other nights like Dusted and Content are awesome too. I like the fact they exist outside of the "big" events like Warehouse Project and Sankeys.

Or if you fancy something a bit more hectic. I interviewed Kamikaze Space Programme in advance of his podcast:
