The new Booka Shade album, The sun and the neon light, is pretty good. Minimal techno/electro goodness.

I'm telling everyone this but try..

    Inner Party System

They're a relatively new band that nobodys has heard of yet, so i'm spreading the word to get these guys recognition. ;-)

Plus, they're just starting a UK tour so, good time to get into them!

I'm not sure I'd recommend it, as that would be rather crass, but you can download an album of electronic stuff I've made over the years from here - for free. If you do decide to have a listen let me know what you think of it.

It has quite a 90s feel to it, but that's cause most of it was made in the 90s, and I have only recently got round to mastering it and releasing the damn thing.

    Hope you like it :)

I'd suggest picking up Ed Rec Vol 3 and Kitsune Maison 5. Two compilation albums from two very hot French labels.

Or check their Solid Steel mix, quite a nice selection of party tunes on there... although has to be said, DJ Food's mix is better.

Also check out other stuff on the Ninja Tune label, always worth a look.

Great tip, been listening to their album today.. some excellent tracks on there. Kind of Pendulum with BT and Hybrid mixed together.

Anjunabeats vol. 6 is very good, Anjuna compilations rarely disappoint.
Armada at Amnesia by Markus Schulz is also on heavy rotation in the car at the minute. Some amazing proggy trance on there.
Also, the new A State of Trance 2008 by Armin van Buuren is well worth picking up, best compilation he's put out in a while.
Sasha's Invol2ver is very good as well. Not as good as the original (best EDM album i've ever heard that one!) but quality nontheless.

Don't know if you're in to house, but the Baked Soul guys have a fantastic podcast:

Also, aside from house, I'm still listening to old Hybrid and BT albums after all these years. They never grow tired.

New Photek is nice. Jazzy, dark, some vocals tracks, groovy, lovely album.
And goes very well with playing Lego Batman, strangely :/

Has anyone given The Knife a go? Not really trance or dance but they are an amazing 2 piece sibling experimental group from sweden.

It's progressive trance. Quite hard edged at times yet still melodic.

Sasha featured 'Destroy Everything You Touch' by Ladytron on his Invol2ver mix. Definite highlight of the cd.

Oh yeah, I saw them supporting Nine Inch Nails last year. Pretty good I think, though the people I was with certainly didn't agree.

Then, out of the blue, I heard a song of theirs that I recognised on BBC 6Music the other day. Do they have an album yet?

Yeah, Xpander by Sasha from Wipeout 3 is pretty much my favourite EDM track ever.

Haven't visited this thread for a while :)

Anyone have any new electronic music to recommend??

I'll give a mention to the soundtrack from the PSN game Shatter.. very good.
Pendulum live at Brixton Academy is good, if you like them!
Stanton Warriors - Tokyo is a brilliant track IMHO and on the WipEoutHD soundtrack.
Like the Deadmau5 album too, some good stuff on there.
Jetstream by Doves is a great track and not what you'd expect from them.
Not exactly new but the UNKLE remix of FEAR by Ian Brown is a fave of mine.
Really like the new Royksopp album Junior.
Refleckt - Need to Feel Loved is a great dance track, perfect for the car :)

I know what you mean, but Doves were sub sub before they made a dramatic u-turn into more rock territory. It's nice to see them incorporating a bit of their dance history and works bloody well.

There's a big New Order influence on that track too.
