Zombie Apocalypse: NDA has the most annoying character (Jeremy) also he has the best weapon. How to survive has the biggest flaw, the attack button is RB and you can't change it to anything else. Also the game is a bit poor, rips off borderlands presentation in the tutorial and sounds like one of the characters from the game. Worst of all its really clunky with poor animations but there is no hint of genius hidden under the clunky gamneplay

Can anyone recommend a trusted site that do instant points/cards for Xbox? I usually use ShopTo but they don't seem to have any instant points at the moment.

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

Thanks Muttler and deckard. I liked fight night 4 but didn't play it enough to get fully gripped. Will give this a go.

... and Call of Duty Ghosts is the last deal for the "Countdown to 2014" sales. For roughly the same price you can get the game from regular retail shops. Yay.

During the whole run I've bought Brothers and that's it. I don't know if that means I've already bought everything that's worth buying or if it means the sale was a bit pants.

They've had some good sales over the past couple of years. This was not one of them.
  • Deleted user 31 December 2013 08:23:35
It was pretty good, just depends what you've got already.

I ended up with wolf among us season pass and l4d2 with cold stream dlc. Oh and ghost recon.

Nearly got trails evo, civilisation and bully but didn't bite.

I grabbed quite a few things personally, and thought it was a pretty decent sale for the most part.

Brothers, Fruit Ninja Kinect, The Bridge, Eternal Sonata, Mars War Logs, State of Decay were all purchased, and in conjunction with several good deals on stuff I'd already got (Trials / Fez / Spelunky / Walking Dead etc.), it all seemed very good to me, exactly the sort of thing you should expect from an end of generation fire sale really, and hopefully we'll get similar deals for the next 6 months or so.

They've had some massive sales in the past couple of years, and not just for New Year. Go and take a look at some of the stuff they've had before. This wasn't a terrible sale, but there was nothing "wow" about it. A day devoted to incomplete season passes?! Jiminy Cricket.

Google "countdown to 2013" or "ultimate god sale" if you honestly can't remember previous promotions.

I grabbed a shedload of arcade titles and also payday and l4d2. So I was pretty impressed this year. It all depends what you don't have and what you want I suppose. In fact I bought more titles this time around than I ever have in a sale before.

I think I've got loads from previous sales, so this year is probably not that great for me. If you'd bought your xbox recently it was probably OK. I think all I bought was Peggle and Peggle nights for 1.34. Something big, new and cheap for publicity would have been nice.

'Brothers' and 'State of Decay' for me - plus I'd already picked up the (superb) 'From Dust', 'Beyond Good and Evil' and 'Raving Rabbids' from the Ubi sale.

Lego games are currently on offer, too - 9 each for 'Lego Batman 2' and 'Lord of the Rings' is...tempting - mainly because I play these with my girlfriend's nephew and niece and they have a habit of scratching the discs to pieces.

I still haven't played my Lego Batman 2 from when it was 4.50 in the GoD sale six months ago. :o

Heh, it was available to all six months ago. It's almost as if these sales are getting worse. :p

I know - I was really miffed that my card wouldn't let me order Lego Batman 2 when it was available at such a good price.

Ah well - plenty to keep me busy, thanks to you guys!

COD: ghosts for 35 is pretty laughable as "Sale item" it shows publishers idea for downloads pricing

Did get a few games and might get I am alive before the sale is over

That's just Acti though. Look at the January sale prices on PSN. Every single one is a bargain... except Activision games which are all, - without exception - not only not bargains, but at a price you would expect to see outside of any kind of sale. When put up alongside every other publisher's sales offerings in such a way, it's extremely noticeable and reflects very badly on their company's perceived view of the consumer.

Brothers A tale of two sons was absolutely beautiful. What a great game for me to start the new year with.

Short and very bitter sweet. Some dark and macabre moments in it too.

    Loved it.

Glad to see Brothers on so many top ten lists this year. Hope it did well for them, and we get more of this kind of short and sweet game.

I bought brothers on the last day of the sale. Couldn't resist due to the praise it keeps getting. Will play it eventually but have too many games to get through.

These Far Cry sales are a bit tempting. Far Cry 2 for 5 USD.

Promised not to buy any games this year..apart from Dark Souls2. And that was especially true for Sales temptations.

@TOOTR I bought it, even though DS2 and LoS2 are supposed to be my only purchases this year.
