I think I'll be picking up BG&E finally and perhaps give Outland a go.

I finally folded and got Sleeping Dogs. Better be good. :) Heard enough good things, hope the story is ok.

Tell it to the cleaning lady on Monday.

re: spelunky - 2 things that might help that took me ages to realise as I dont think they are included in the instructions.

    1) you can throw ropes downwards
    2) you can walk or run through spikes.

    Cheers for the tips!

Is the aim of the game just to get to the end of a level, or find everything in it too?

Lol I dont really know - I think just get to the end and amass as much gold as you can! Im still on my first play through - got as far as the temple.

There is definately more to it than first seems though - I keep finding little secrets and hidden sections. I wasnt sure about it at first but it has definately grown on me.

The aim is to get to the end of each level fairly quickly. You can do a little exploring in the levels but just make sure you don't hang around too long. It is worth trying to save the damsel in distress as much as possible but don't get too risky with it.
Try and save your bombs early on if you can.

    Very much this.
When I fist started playing I thought I had wasted my money but as you start to get a better understanding of what it is all about and you get a taste of some equipment you might be able to find it turns into a great experience and very rewarding.

    Cheers chaps!

I've had it downloaded since release but like many others I have a backlog of games as long as my arm! Just can't resist those sales/bargains on XBL.
I've remembered that a ghost or something comes along if you dwell to long.
I've just played through the tutorial again so going to give it some love today.

*tip to one-self. Hit anything that's breaks twice with your whip! :)

    Stop talking about Spelunky.

You're making me want to buy it. And there's no way I'm spending 1200 points on a game that's only 158MB.

Thanks... but only 9.5MB? Doesn't sound very good. I'll wait for a bigger version. :p

Edit: whoops it's downloading. Well... MAYBE I'll try it. ;) Thank you!

Hold on...was it you Jim that directly correlates game quality to HDD space taken?

Rise of the Robots was 15 discs on the Amiga...it was shit. :p

Tell it to the cleaning lady on Monday.

    Spelunky is an incredible game.

I managed to finish it (with shortcuts) a couple of weeks ago, so now I'm trying for the journal/achievements. I can get to the ice caves with a decent amount of kit, but can't get any further. :(

That wasn't me... but I forget which title I saw added to GOG, went to buy it, saw it was only ~14MB and decided to wait for a sale. :p

Does anyone have a foolproof method of killing shopkeepers? That would help me quite a bit I think.

Only 14MB of assets?! Where's the VALUE!?

GOG game sales would go through the roof if they stopped listing the game sizes. :p

Grabbed it in the sale last week. It is not the most original of games but I think the story (so far at least) is better than most sandbox games (definitely prefer it to the niko bellic story in GTA4). For £9 it is a bargain imho.

:) that's why I HATE ms points. I'm always about 50 points short of what I want.

Oh yeah! I really should try and remember that more often.
Right, time to fill out a question form thingy.
