Registered 8 years ago@PenguinJim Wow, Far Cry 3 for 30 Euro... I think digital-me might move to Hungary! Will start with Kinect Sports Season 2 for 10 to play with the missus.
Btw: where to get instant points at the best price atm?

Registered 6 years agoI'd offer you my unredeemed 2000 UK/EU points card, but some twat linked to the Hungarian Xbox marketplace and now I think I'm going to set up a Hungary account.
£1 is what, 160 points or less? These are rough currency conversions, as I can't seem to see the points without having a hu-HU account, but conservatively saying that 300 Forints is £1, we roughly have (now updated with accurate MSP costs using my Hungarian account) :
£1 Call of Juarez - 80MSP
£3 Halo Reach - 400MSP
£3 Halo Wars - 400MSP
£1 Rainbow Six: Vegas (I'm assured that this has a better ending than its sequel) - 80MSP
£3 DiRT 2 - 400MSP
And it's not been discounted yet, but MGS: Peacewalker is £7 without the sale (can't update with points as it's region-locked and I'm not in the UK/EU). I think it's a reasonable assumption that it will be about £4 later (although the MGS 2&3 pack is ~£18 undiscounted at the moment, so not a Hungarian-style bargain).
So that's £15 for getting CoJ, Reach, Wars, RS:Vegas, DiRT 2 and (probably) Peacewalker slapped onto your HDD, which is equivalent to 2100 points or so? Try it, siro, and let us know!
...actually, those Halo game discounts expire in less than twelve hours, don't they. Hmmm. ->Hungarian account setup time!
Edit: made an account and updated with MSP costs.

I enjoyed Brotherhood more than ACII. Revelations I've had sat on the pile of shame for ages, I've never actually gotten around to playing it.

This week's 'scratch n' match' consolation prizes are the two Bionic Commando Rearmed games, incidentally. 400 and 600 respectively, iirc. -

Registered 11 years ago@NeverEatYellowSnow - Definitely brotherhood, revelations is strangely dull despite being not all that dissimilar to brotherhood. -

For no apparent reason (that I can see) Microsoft appear to have dropped the price of Skulls of the Shogun to 800 points today.

Registered 3 years agoI wrote this sale off as a cash grab before Microsoft announce the new console and vowed to not spend a penny on it.
However, GRID for £2.60?
How could i possibly be expected to say no to that......
"Look at banner Michael!"

If you were looking for a reason to say 'no' there's a bunch of people in the "on demand" thread saying stuff along the lines of 'man, this isn't nearly as good as I remembered it'.

Registered 2 years agoGrid is still as much fun in multiplayer as I remember. Was playing it with a friend last night and we were in hysterics at times. Not tried the single player yet though, but I remember it was quite fun when I last played it.
If you love racing simulators it may not be your thing as the car handling isn't very realistic -

That's probably too tempting for me to resist, although I know full well that by the time I get around to playing it, it'll have been 600 points in some other zany sale.

Registered 3 years agoSome advice please chaps and chapettes! (as I'm a newbie Xbox owner).
I downloaded the trial for Trials Evolution, just bought points and purchased the full game through the dash. Now when i boot up the game and play it's asking me to unlock the full game. I confirm this and then it says 'You've already purchased this item and may have downloaded it before. Would you like to download this item now?'. It gives me the option to cancel, play now, or download again. I hit play now and it reboots the game, but I'm still on the trial version.
Help would be much appreciated!

I guess you're probably best off deleting it then reinstalling.

Registered 3 years agoCheers guys, that's what I'll probably do (but would rather not as my net connection is woeful and I have Skyrim downloading since 16:30 today - it's currently on 49%! More fool me for not doing it overnight though).Girl, you thought he was a man, but he was a muffin.

Registered 10 years agoIt won't actually download the game again, just the licence once more or a few bytes of something which takes a few seconds. Worth trying that before deleting. Not sure if you can pause Skyrim and download that first though. Think downloads have to complete in order. -

Registered 6 years agoIf you go to 'Active Downloads' through the guide button, you can select an item waiting to download and it'll have a 'Download Now' option.
It'll download it and then resume the first download when it's done.

Cheers for the suggestions folks, ended up deleting it and downloading it (the demo appears as a separate 1.3Gb download in my history).
Please don't tempt me with more games, I've a green-boxed backlog building rapidly!
So, gonna give TE a quick go before (what is already a very late night) bed, this should end well...Girl, you thought he was a man, but he was a muffin.
