Also thanks for this nifty description, I'm definitely going to trial it over the weekend, now.
That's it, yup - except you control one character. The depth comes in the specific talents and unlocks of that character, and then the complement of heroes your team has.
Just watched the review - do want to try, very much. I love strategy games where you are allowed to really nerd out on unit combinations/talents/skills and the like. Essentially well balanced rock-scissors-paper-water-fire-gunpowder-flashbang. See you on it, Jive!
Anyone else who has it, add me/yell. -

Registered 6 years agoTwo maps only, though: but as I understand it, DOTA was born of one map alone - its the character mechanics that are the crucial element; the arena you fight in just has to serve them and the variety will follow. I hope. -
I have found the concept intriguing from the little I've read. One worthy map could be a godsend if the mechanics are that deep.
Just about to trial the demo I have a tenner earmarked for it if I see potential. And if I don't suck of course. -

Just played the tutorial. First impressions good, very intuitive controls. I'll play with you Red as it's only going to come into its own in multiplayer.

Maybe it's another small game I can champion with utmost futility. -

Registered 7 years agoWorking my way through G of ME at the moment. It's slick enough but I feel a little too far away from the action to figure what's happening a lot of the time. I don't think it explains itself well, but I'm hoping teething issues gives way to another Awesomenauts type experience. Got a way to go to top that though. -
I'll at least try the trial.

Registered 6 years agoAfter being confused, I am loving it. so much fun. Well worth a shot - online, that is.
So much to tinker with, and once I got tuned to what was happening to me, and what was happening to an enemy, it got easier. -

Registered 6 years agoSingle path map is a bit uninteresting, but the three-way one is much better.
Season pass only talks about characters + modes. Hopefully maps included also. At least it seems as though they have some plans for the future.
I have only played a few matches, but am eager to try more. I like being Eowyn and healing people. -

Registered 6 years agoSo after playing G:ME some more, I am enjoying it.
The only issue I have with it is the netcode - takes a while to find a game, sometimes. However, they're patching that on the 14th, apparently. From what I have read, they've built the game for regular updates.
Will let you lot know how it fares, if you like. -

Registered 6 years agoKeep the G:ME updates coming Red - although maybe time for it's own thread."Assimilate this!" cried Worf, firing a space bazooka at the Borg.
-
I tried to create a thread yesterday but it didn't work for some reason.
Anyway, so far it's great although it will be far better with a full team. Coff, hint, coff. -

Registered 6 years agoIt's a great game, currently hampered by some network issues. Brilliant.
Patch next week, apparently. Still enjoying it a lot, however.
Just learned that the patch includes a new 3v3 map for free, set in The Shire, and is aimed at fixing matchmaking issues.
For what it's worth, the core game is clearly well-made, and the devs seem keen on supporting it for a while. Shall update ye all after the patch and we shall see...

Registered 3 years agoDOTW now live.
Tropico 4 is £14.99 on Games on Demand, and all the DLC is half price.
Nothing for me, so time to save points for Christmas I think. -
New list of upcoming stuff here too.
Nothing particularly interesting (more free Kinect stuff, yay), but it does look like there's going to be a rolling Christmas period sale starting on the 18th.
Edit: THQ sale this weekend, too. Probably not Humble Bundle prices though, I'm guessing..gif)

Registered 6 years agoI will take Costume Quest for 400 points, please.
Interesting that the Countdown to Christmas starts on the 18th. I'd assumed that the Rewards promotion (100 points back for 2,000 spend) was ending on the 20th so that the sale could begin on the 21st.
Although, now that I'm looking more closely... "Purchases must be made from December 1 – December 31, 2012 via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace."
Which is nice. -

Registered 2 years agoI still have some of the points sitting on my account that I bought for the Xmas sale last year!!!
More on the way as well as I got Halo 4 & 2100 points free for signing up for 02 broadband last week.
I also have 2100 unredeemed from the recent Tesco BLOPS2 deal.
Please please let there be something for me to buy... -

Oh shit, man. I'm going to need me some points!

Definitely want Mark of the Ninja and Dust, will probably also pick up Hell Yeah.
Also want The Walking Dead, although I might just pick that up in the Steam Christmas sale instead. -
It's probably too much to ask for Retro City Rampage to be released before the end of the year, right?
