haven't played it myself, but Mark of the Ninja seems to have been the pick of the recent releases with pretty much everyone here liking it.

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Rabbit got decent reviews, but hasn't attracted much attention here.

Nights into Dreams and Jetset Radio also have had a decent following on this thread, but as always with those sorts of releases it's hard to tell how much of that was down to nostalgia.

Happy Wars seems to be decent enough for a freebie

@dutchspeededup - mark of the ninja is definitely worth trying. Other than that it has been a dry few months. Whatever you do avoid deadlight like the plague

    Scratch and Match 'loser' deals:
    Torchlight 50% off (600 MSP)
Dishwasher Vampire Smile 50% off (400 MSP)
Dead Block 50% off (400 MSP)

Might give the demo of Joy Ride Turbo another whirl, the kids had fun with that back when it first launched. Could've sworn it was initially only 800, though.

Edit: And I'm right, it is only 800. So it might well be 400 next week rather than 600.

Got excited there when I saw the Skyrim DLC was discounted, but that turned to disappointment when I saw the stingy discount (says the man quibbling over saving a few quid!)

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

@Blerk - joy ride is shallow buy good fun, especially for 400.

Oh, and thanks for the ship, I received the email so will try it when my pc arrives next week :)

No posts for ages! What's happened to us? :)

    Anyway, forthcoming deals are up.

    This week puzzle games:
    Carcassonne
    Catan
    Magic The Gathering
    Magic 2012
    Super Puzzle Fighter HD
    Puzzle Quest 1
    Puzzle Quest 2

    All 400 points each.

Next week it's I Am Alive for 800, which is potentially interesting but not as interesting as if it'd been 600.

Perhaps most interesting of all, however, is this:
Xbox LIVE 10 Year Anniversary Sale (15-Nov to 22-Nov)

    ... which could/should be good!

Edit: Scratch n' sniff 'loser' deals are thus:
    Section 8 Prejudice: 600 MSP (1/2 off)
Frontier Colonies Map Pack: 160 MSP (1/2 off)
Overdrive Map Pack: 160 MSP (1/2 off)

If they brought Psychonauts back for the promo I'd be in like flynn! Can't find my boxed original anywhere >:(

    @Blerk - good work, Sir!

Wonder whether the 10th Anniversary sale will be Gold members only. My Gold a/c recently expired and, whilst I am sorting out a cheap renewal (ebay), I was hoping to wait till the New Year before processing it. Mind you I may have to do this anyway as:

I'll probably go for IAA at that price. Obviously 600msp would've been preferable, but it reviewed well and had decent word of mouth, for which 800msp seems like a reasonable price.

    Why look, it's a blog:

It's usually only Deal of the Week that's Gold-only, I'd bet on the Anniversary sale being open to everyone.

TBH I've been waiting for an I'm Alive offer for ages - it has been discounted on PSN *twice* since last August... I'm also curious about the Anniversary sale, it's MS' chance to make up for a lot of their repeated/useless offers...

According to CheapAssGamer Wreckateer was accidentally up for 'free' for a while earlier on (now corrected, don't shove at the back). Apparently last time there was a Live anniversary they gave some stuff away, so it's perhaps not too great a leap to put two and two together here and get.... completely the wrong answer.

Hope it's not free Wreckateer, anyway. Kinect-only deals ftl!

Would be great to get Halo Anniversary GoD as part of the Anniversary deal. Free original Halo goodness would be most welcome!

Imagine we'll see some of the older XBLA titles wheeled out, as well as a couple of decent price cuts. Any of the following would be particularly welcome (in a vague order of preference):

    The Walking Dead
    Fez
    Trials Evolution
    Spelunky
Mark Of The Ninja (likely too soon)
Jet Set Radio (likely too soon)
    Nights (likely too soon)
    Minecraft (no chance)
    Dust: AET
    Quantum Conundrum
Deadlight (would have to be very cheap, given forum feedback)

I got deadlight for free and I felt ripped off.

Would love to see mark of the ninja in the sale. Not sure anything else could tempt me though, unless there were some serious bargains (x-men arcade for 200 msp!)

OK folks, in an effort to waste more of my points- Which Puzzle Quest is better.

    Should I get PQ1, or 2?

I seem to recall people being somewhat disappointed with 2, but I might be misremembering. Personally speaking I never got on with 1 either, I've tried to play the DS version several times and just end up bored stiff.

1 is better than 2 in my opinion the game is much cleaner and less fussy. I think they added too much with the second. plus the overworld is nicer.

My memory tells me that the 1st was a much quicker game, from playing a board to moving around, the second is much slower and you end up walking down areas which you've emptied out.

I really enjoyed PQ1. A very fluffy light game that can be played with brain switched off very happily.

Vaguely tempted by PQ2 as I quite fancy something mindless at the moment. Puzzle Fighter might also be a possibility, although it looks like a crappy tetris clone that has suspiciously good reviews due to the nostalgia factor from a brief youtube.

Shame they haven't discounted the DLC from the first Magic game as well.

Tempted by Puzzle Quest 1 & 2, although if I got 1, I'd also have to get the DLC for it, as I'm a bit ocd like that. The add on pack is 700 points, what kind of stupid random figure is that?

Shame Galactrix isn't on sale as well. Looking forward to a massive sale, don't forget it's also Black Friday on the 23rd.

    thanks.

I've set up the demo of puzzle fighter anyway, so I'll try it later tonight.

the PQ1 DLC is probably the biggest waste of money on the 360. Basically a dull quest and a cheap final boss that can't be defended against. I'm only glad I didn't pay proper money for it as it was one of my 'virtual looting' purchases during the rewards cockup last year.

tried a couple of the demos last night.

Didn't get on with Puzzle Fighter at all, but now I've finally 100% completed Gyromancer, PQ2 will do nicely I think.
