Waah! My trusty Sansa Clip has just died on me after a couple of years of faithful service. I need a replacement that:
    - is small
    - is light
    - has buttons (important)
    - decent sound quality

Currently torn between buying another Sansa Clip variant or trying out a Kubik Evo. Anyone have any cautionary tales about the recent Sansas or horror stories about the Kubik? Other suggestions also welcome

    ANCIENT THREAD RESURRECTION.

I have a specific need for an MP3 player... 24 hours of battery life when playing music at a reasonable volume. I have a Sansa Clip but that would be lucky to do 8 at a push.

    Anyone got any suggestions?

Can you not just buy a usb charge pack for your clip?

No, I'm already realistically carrying too much stuff (this is for use during a cycling event).

Saying it's "up to 30 hours" says to me that it's almost certainly not going to manage 24 hours. I've not seen a cowon, will have a look.

Only one that seems to fit the bill so far is *spits* an ipod touch.

Funnily enough, I'm actually testing mine right now to see if doing that will work out. I suspect it wont make it 12 hours though.

Plus the clips on them are crap, so I'm sort of loathe to get another.

Hmm... that seems pretty good. I'll have a read around on it, cheers.
