Dare I say.... is that all?

Registered 7 years agoThe fight was good, but I can't say I was overly impressed with Khan. Maidana laughed at his best punches and probably would have kicked his arse if he started letting his hands go from the first round.
Khan did withstand a few good shots, but I don't know what he's going to do against someone with power, speed and stamina. He must've out-landed Maidana 3 to 1 and Maidana walked away with a tiny cut.

To be fair Maidana's never been stopped and also had like an 85% stoppage record. First time I've seen him fight but a lot of people were saying he was the most dangerous fighter at that weight. Very good performance from Khan I thought, and to me he showed he can fight in the top tier of boxing now.

Registered 7 years agoI don't know much about either boxer - was just giving my 2 cents.
I've no doubt Khan can compete at that weight, though... my biggest concern after that fight was his punching power. How the hell he managed to stay up in the 10th (or 11th?) after Maidana made his knees buckle was beyond me. Quite an effort there. -

Registered 6 years agoIt surprised me that Khan only managed one KD against Maidana. Ortiz had him down three times and he's not a huge puncher. -

Registered 4 years agoWatch khans last few fights and you'll see he's defo got the punching power, it was always his chin that was the worry. Dunno how the hell he got through the 10th, I didn't think he had it in him. -

Registered 6 years agoGreat fight, shame Hopkins was robbed. Pascal looked like a beaten man at the end, but to give it as a majority draw is a joke. The refereeing was a joke as well, the first KD was a cleat punch to the back of the head.
Hopkins is beast. He absolutely schooled him. -

Registered 8 years agoBotha v Tyson Fury is off, the BBBC refused to sanction the fight. Must be annoying for Fury now as most heavyweights are actively avoiding him. I think he's got some good talent but needs some better opponents to keep him learning his craft. -

Gotta feel for Chisora a bit. Was lined up with world title shot, now will probably lose his titles to Fury. Can't see him doing anything but tbh, Fury isn't great yet but he's developing well and his sheer size and power will be too much I think. -

Reminder that Khan is fighting tonight, and also a reminder that he can fuck off, for £15. Don't mind paying for big events, but do me a favour Amir...
