I think Maidana is just a bad matchup because he doesn't get intimidated and his timing and punches are awkward. It was interesting to see Floyd adjust to the awkwardness throughout the fight, shows how much better he is than Broner.

Khan could be Floyd's first legit KO since Hatton. Slow feet, shit chin. Fast hands are useless if you can't get into range.

Good fight card. Felt that Mayweather's experience was what got him through the fight. Maidana is so awkward to deal with, his style is unlike anyone else's in the division.

Khan's performance was interesting. He has started using holding and spoiling tactics in his fight style, similar to Andre Ward. Wonder if that's something that Virgil Hunter has coached into him? Anyway, I'm not sure Khan will get Mayweather next; he's better off not waiting and going after the Kell Brook vs Shawn Porter winner, and then fight Keith Thurman if he wins the belt.

Would love to see Maidana vs Manny Pacquiao, if Golden Boy and Top Rank can agree on that (they won't).

This is a really good breakdown of the dirty boxing Khan was using:

Sounds like Froch got schooled in sparring with Eubank Jnr. Will hunt it down tomorrow.

I'm getting really sick and tired of hearing Groves keep mouthing off now. Really hope Froch knocks some humility into him.

They are both loud mouth dick heads.

Hope Groves wins just to wipe that smug look off Eddie Hearn's face.

I think the fact Groves hasn't really managed to rile Froch up yet is getting to him.

    +1

Beat some people we've heard of and then you can gob off with a bit of credence.

Says alot about the state of boxing when the 'biggest fight ever' is between two dislikable pricks.

And to make matters even worse, the winner has to fight James Degale next, so the big headed circus will continue for another few months.

How on earth is he in any position to challenge for a world title? Good grief.

DeGale is, believe it or not, ranked in the top 5 of all the World Boxing governing bodies, so if he beats another top ranked opponent, he gets a title shot. The IBF are the strictest of the four when it comes to forcing mandatory defenses, so Degale (and most importantly, Eddie Hearn and Sky) went down that road.

I saw some live boxing recently in London. There were a couple of low level title fights. Really enjoyed it, and definitely gonna go back. I tell you what though, boxing NEEDS a slow-motion replay. I took my eye off it for a second* to look at the Spearmint Rhino girls and missed the cruiserweight knock out

    *a while

To be fair someone (I'm guessing Sky marketing) has done a pretty good job. It's all over the news and has really captured the public imagination, does anybody know what time the main fight is supposed to start (I know it's a bit dependent on the undercard). I get off work at 11 and am hoping I might catch it.
