Anyway I decided that I am too impatient to watch it week to week so downloaded the entire series. Just watched the fourth episode of season two and the quality is as high as ever.

Registered 7 years agoI don't understand why they bury this show in the depths of BBC4 when it is easily better than any of their prime time offerings on BBC one or two.

Registered 6 years agoJust finished watching season 2 after first catching an episode on BBC2 (are the episodes currently showing repeats or is that the actual pace it's going at?). Excellent show. Anyone still watching/re-watching it? -

Registered 10 years agoAye, still watching the BBC HD run. Up to Episode 7 I think. Loving it, the writing is just superb. Really gives the impression of it all building to a crescendo - it may well not, but the fact it gives the impression it is about to is what makes the show.
And I am in love with January Jones. -

Registered 6 years agoOh, just watched episode 8 on Tuesday, so, so good. It's such a slow burner, really well done. Always has that on-edge feeling, like it's building up towards something that's about to come crashing down. Saying that, there certainly was some big moments (esp the end!) in that episode! -
Is it back on yet, then?

Registered 10 years ago2nd Season run on BBC. Must've been 8, not 9. Poor old Don. Felt sorry for the red head too. -

Hehe I know, although to be fair he did bring it on himself. Why he would cheat when he's got January Jones is beyond me!

Definitely felt bad for the Redhead though (I've completely forgotten her name), which was surprising as she's a bitch normally and I don't like her!
Wonder what's going to happen based on the flashback we saw last week. Someone knows the truth methinks... -

Registered 10 years agoAye, didn't think they'd closed that avenue off after S1.
Agreed, he is mental. Likes his mistresses to be slutty but his wife to be all prim and proper - Campbell is the same, probably a generational thing. -
Watched the first three episodes of this in the last couple of days - it's excellent. Great acting, great dialogues, beautifully shot.
I guessed it would be good when I saw some people complain on amazon that "nothing ever happens". -

Registered 6 years agoHehe it's definitely not an action show.gif)
I love it, must be getting close to the end of season 2 on BBC. As I said above, it's a proper slow-burner of a show, it's all about the characters. Don Draper is my hero. -

Registered 10 years agoSeen the latest episode shown on BBC Cosmic? That was very weird, quite surreal. A little "Tender is the Night" if you ask me. All very odd. -
Nearly though with this - it really is fantastic. It's like someone made a full show out of Richard Yates' "Revolutionary Road" (the book, not the film).
And it's all so incredibly sad, in a subtle way. There's no big obvious drama, no people getting killed, but a few scenes, and often just gestures or very little things, almost broke my heart - helped by the brilliant acting, particularly by Peggy, amd both Drapers.
Top stuff. -

Yeah it was very surreal! I wondered if it was in his head at times, it seemed so out of place. I think I preferred the scenes back in the office actually, I'm not sure what Don is up to now. The woman he had spoke JUST like his wife though, it was uncanny. Wonder if he's having some kind of breakdown perhaps? And when are they going to revisit that brief flashback we saw of him as a car salesman?

Still, absolutely fantastic stuff, it's such a refreshing change from other tv shows. -

Registered 7 years agoJust ordered Season 1 on DVD - already seen it but want to show it to other people. Just finished Season 2 - top stuff, not your typical US import and definitely a slow burner but still great TV. -

Registered 6 years agoAye just watched the last episode of season 2 myself, absolutely phenomenal stuff. Superb in every way. The acting, the script, the characters, the setting, I love it. Step up from season one definitely. I swear an episode could go by where nothing happened and the characters just talked to each other and I'd still love it (which is close to what happens some episodes!)
Bring on season 3! -

Registered 6 years agoI'd imagine a couple of weeks, maybe a month or two? They don't film the entire show and then air it, do they? I think they start airing it when they're about midway through the season. I remember them talking about that during Enterprise's run, the fact they were only 4/5 episodes infront of what was being shown on TV.
Add on another 6 months for BBC though, at the very least

Registered 6 years agoOnly got three episodes left of the third season, absolutely fantastic stuff. Probably the weakest season I think (too much focus on Don and Betty) but it's still miles better than most stuff on tv. The Italy episode was brilliant. -
Just wait till the end
