Has anyone else been really enjoying this year's Masterchef? It's a bit late for a thread now seeing as the final is tonight... But its been bloody excellent

I think James has to win it, or Emily but not Johnny

Yeah, loving it - thought Emily would do well, but she just seems a bit too green on the basics. Watching James take control in the film set thing made me realise he was probably going to win it

I used to work with that guy Johnny, he's a decent enough bloke though he wasn't really into cooking at the time. (Or if he was, he didn't show it)

Johhny can't win it, it's got to be James. He managed to fuck up chips!

What?! They fucking ruined it by making it yet another 'reality TV knockout with added faked tension building moments' - load of old bollocks.

    And the presenters are twats.

Bring back Grossman. He was twatty in a good way.

Ugh, I hate watching the two fish-faced presenters shovelling forkfulls of food into their disgusting, gaping maws.

My wife is watching it avidly, but I cant really sit through it as I feel the same about Greg Wallace judging a cookery show as I do about Piers Morgan judging talent contests.

And John Torode is one of those unique people who annoys me with every inch of his being.

The format, though, seems pretty good, but as bob said the pre-prepared moments of DRAMA are quite grating.

How old is he really then? I almost fell off the couch when it said he was 31. Was he in bomb disposal before? Looks about 45!

I want him to win it actually. The other guy is a nob.

I hate the way that bald guy sucks on the spoons when trying the desserts, as if his very existence depended on getting every drop of chocolate pudding off.

But at the same time it is slightly arousing...

I'd kind of like Emily to win, just because she's young and obviously gifted, but James is the one who has been consistently brilliant in just about every challenge so far. He did extremely well last night cooking for all those pro chefs. Clearly the recipe and dish were brilliant but he really pulled it off.

ARE THEY REALLY. SITTING NEXT TO EACH OTHER?

I would of liked Emily to win because she had different new ideas and techniques that actually worked but James was a good choice too.

Funny thing is that I saw John Torode on one of the Saturday morning cookery programmes and he came across as a nice funny bloke, I get the feeling they act a certain way for this show and I agree he does piss me off on the show quite a bit.

Also agree about the format of the show too, it became quite predictable as the show went on and the setup got quite annoying after a while.

Still, I like the show, it's enjoyable in the most part and I've learned a few bits and bobs from it which is always good. Anyone else think they could probably have a shot at it? I'd be alright apart from presentation I reckon ;-)

Unfortunately I missed the final this evening.

You are a factory of sadness.

Not sure why as I usually hate these format of programmes, but I got totally hooked by Celebrity Masterchef, and Masterchef the Professionals is even better. Just wish they'd stop smearing sauces on plates with the backs of spoons as though that looks good. Anyone else watching?
