Chicago has a huge skyscraper boom as well, just not as noticeable because there are already so many tall buildings

    Chicago Spire, anyone

I'm not a fan of the design either. I mentioned it because it's going to be the tallest in North America (2000ft), roughly 281% taller than London's tallest

Better to be hung for a sheep than a lamb I guess! :)

To be honest though, that does seem to be a modern standard, quite a few of the new London ones seem to be going for a similar (if more dainty) style. I guess that one at least has a due sense of accomplishment to it.

Is that worth having Will Smith for though?

I've always like Will Smith honestly. He's a good actor, but he's too often in those sci-fi roles that require him to be a bit silly (I robot, independence day, Men in Black)

Seems like a good guy personally, i wouldn't mind welcoming him as our new leader

Nah, just halt existing construction and demolish the current buildings that are too expensive to maintain when they become dangerous.

The real crying shame here is the lack of an opinion piece titled 'The Man Who Built His House On Sand'.

It's the equivalent of someone getting a well paid banking role whilst still quite young, and then pissing all their money up the wall rather than saving any, only to find the bank is on the verge of going bust and everything costs a lot more.

    Ahem.

At least they have a 7 star hotel and an island shaped like a palm tree to show for it.

Naaah, they're going to build massive solar power farms and sell it to us at treble the price of oil. :'(

What we should do is sort out our wind and tidal power and undercut them. But we won't because we're a shit democracy where the plebs would rather have tax cuts now and let their grandchildren burn in hell.
