The marines briefing, "last time it was tracked over fury 151, how is it back here?'

'Lets gloss over that detail and move right along shall we? Excellent, thanks!'

Now bearing in mind it's now doubt going to be Weyland Yutani's evil doings, I have to ask...WY pretty much owned the colonial marines in aliens. Why suddenly do they have their own 'elite' force?

The whole thing stinks. To high heaven. And the pulse rifle sample is actually piss poor.

So I wasn't just imagining it. It sounds rubbish.

It's awful. It's a looping sample that has different 'tones'. So even using burst fire, it's just the same as holding the trigger down.

    Lame ass :-|

Encountered one of the most piss poor "smoke" effects I've seen in practically forever, so bad I had to FRAPS it!

At first I was thinking "what smoke effect is he talking about" before those meteors / space debris in the background WAS the actual smoke. GFX n lighting on that dropship thing looked ok though.

As one Neogaf user puts it, "Brandon Justice wins the Official Doritos Papal Hat Award For Ethics in Games Journalism."

Extra lols for the full screen Aliens advertisement splattered all over their site!

Who've just spent £40 on said game assuring everybody that it's honestly not as bad as everybody says it is. It's just hard to shake the suspicion that maybe I'm not the one they're trying to convince. ;)
Fairdos, the game does deserve a 3/10 and the developers and publishers need to be humiliated and sackings should occur (not in the marketing dept though)

But multiplayer is pretty good VS and co-op, be a shame if no one was online to play it and put off from all the hate, all i'm saying is pick it up when it's £5-£10 quid, you're expectations will be so low you'll probably be surprised.

You know they totally pressed the wrong version of the game.

The work experience kid posted an old beta version off to the German CD pressers and they're keeping quiet about it :p

Have to laugh at the comments on that vid going on about class action lawsuits against Gearbox.

They must have realised they couldn't make it look that good on consoles and so every platform was scaled back to the lowest common denominator.

Except the Wii U version of course.

I've no intention of playing the game (I don't have time to play all the good games I own, let alone shit ones too), but is there any explanation given toward this? Is it a clone? Surely if the Sulaco has been to Fury 161 and then returned to LV-426 Ripley, Newt and Hicks will have been removed from the vessel, and Hicks and Newt died in hypersleep anyway. It makes no sense trying to be a credible sequel to the film claimed to have been written by fans if they're going to fuck around with established canon for the sake of cameos.

His cryotube was taken out and replaced with someone else's. When I heard this, I was so pissed that I shut the game off.

"You have no right to petition artists to change their art.” This comes from A:CM's lead hack writer Mikey Neumann. The man that felt he had a right to mess with Alien³ and the canonical story actual artists wrote for this ballsy conclusion of the series.

The award for worst dialogue in anything ever goes to:

"Looks like it's the maid's day off!"
"I'll use the scanner to look out for rogue maids!"

A map is like comparing velocity and speed.

Can't wait for the next Randy Pitchford interview.

It's a shame that they can put their name to quality franchises like Brothers in Arms and Borderlands but also disasters like this and DNF.

It's not uncommon for final gameplay to be different from a scripted trailer but that does take it to extremes.

Yeah, but normally the visuals are improved slightly from early reveals. Not enormously scaled back, so it's like comparing Halo 1 and Halo 4.

A game has to be awesome to make me go back to a checkpoint miles away.

Oh well, CM, we didn't get to hang out for very long at all, did we?
