The aliens try that in Colonial Marines, but either get stuck on a railing or just forget and stand around instead. -

Had a go. Hilariously bad.
The only time it kind of felt like an aliens game was the escape mode played as marines.
Playing as Aliens, in third person so you can see the atrocious animation, is pretty bad. For some reason the crosshair is there until you attack meaning when you do attack you flail your arms around unsure if you're hitting anything while you get cut through like butter in seconds.You dare to strike Scurrcules!?

Registered 4 months agoCheck this out. The guy is playing on "hardened" difficulty....
He was able to run through the whole level without firing a single shot and barely gets a scratch from the aliens.

What the hell happened indeed?!
Did they bite off more than they could chew, not enough time, resources to make the whole game look that good so they 'lowered' the visuals down throughout the game to be consistant? (bad).

Registered 8 years agoThat demo/final comparison really says it all. They've clearly pissed away so much time developing their own IP, that the time has come where they couldn't delay this anymore so it's just been patched together & thrown out of the door.
Rather than optimising & polishing the game up, any graphical features that have hit the frame rate have just been removed completely, leaving a rough looking, glitchy mess. It's like a playable alpha masquerading as a full game. -
Ones a render and the other is in game.
