Just flicked over into a conversation about trust in the police after today's Stephen Lawrence revelations. Amanda Platell's (D**** M***) response:

"I listened to you ask that question, an my first thought was that you're a beautiful young black man, who reminds me of Stephen Lawrence."

Other panel members look shell-shocked by this information, and look at each other. She then informed everyone that the D**** M*** is a wonderful newspaper, and that it's editor, Paul Cuntre, is a wonderful man.

    Brilliant!

Immigration isn't the problem, the control and management is.

That was a lively QT today. One guy told the panel he was homeless and seemed to imply that immigrants were stopping him from getting a job, before walking out.

I liked what that Rachel Reeves said about him, and about the immigration issues in general. What a shame that such square-peg people with sensible views end up getting battered into the round-holes that party politics/whips and newsmedia demand.

For example, Heseltine attacking her view because she was making sense and the audience seemed receptive to her.

It seemed like they had recruited the audience from a local UKIP meeting.

An awful lot of applause for him from the crowd too.
    Suppose the question helps.

I think that's an exaggeration. Apart from Tory boy, the others are making their points just fine.

"I'm old enough to have read this and I'm old enough to have read that"

How old do you need to be to read these days then?

No he was being condescending to anyone under the age of 50.

    Go you, old fucker.

He just got his words muddled because a TV camera was in his face.

He obviously meant old enough to remember them, and that he'd also read the rivers of blood speech.

Well you get a certain unique perspective from actually living through things (in this case McCarthyism and Enoch Powell's speech) as opposed to simply seeing them as history.

It's why I tend to listen to people who lived through WW2 (well, not the concentration camp guards). It's even more valuable in something like WW2. It's almost beyond belief unless you were there, and we shouldn't forget the lessons of it.

No he wasn't. He was telling Farage he can remember politicians like Enoch Powell fomenting race hate and said that Farage should be very careful about doing something similar.

How the hell did you interpret that as boasting he can read and being condescending to people who aren't old?

Fair enough. Still think he only had a question so that he could insult Farage, dismissing him without even waiting for his reply.

Farage didn't say anything he hasn't said dozens of times before, so you could pretty much guess what his response was going to be anyway.

Oh OK then. Let's just keep guessing about politics.

Enjoyed that, thought 4 of the party's came across well. The Tory really didn't cover himself in glory at all.

Labour was very passionate and I was very impressed by how knowledgeable the lib dem was. Glad the green party cleared the red ribbon up as that confused the hell out of me.

Agree. But i am naturally leftie. Thought that shirley williams and caroline lucas gave Farage the debate he should have had a few weeks back. Schooled him in a few regards. I have to say though, Farage had made his points more nuisanced. Learned a few things on the way.

I'd vote for UKIP if they promised to kick Morgan and Barton out of the country.

And it's in an airport. Who says political debate is being dumbed down.

To be fair UKIP lady is achieving the impossible by relegating JB to 3rd biggest twat at the table. Obviously first place was a forgone conclusion.

I do wonder sometimes. Just ask the UKIP lady. What do UKIP stand for. What policies do you have? It ain't hard. Will show them up for what they are. All talk.

Or just ask the lady what your opinion on that maternity view.. jesus it ain't hard.

I did miss the first 15 mins though.
