Heh, same here. I guess those of us who aren't so good can face off against each other.

I already tried hosting a tournament with Mario Strikers but it sadly never finished. Seeing as Advance Wars is a much more established brand with lots of love in the forums maybe it's worth trying to get one going (in two weeks or so, I'm really busy at work at the moment)?

Is there going to be a ladder for this on EG?

just checking, is there a region lock for online play? my internal video game collector likes the US box/title better (same with kirby canvas curse, i'm refusing to buy it before i find a US version in good shape).

I look forward to getting absolutely destroyed by Lutzie - if our vastly different timezones can be reconciled.

    Where are you based?

BTW: It's got 2 options; play the world or play yoru mates, and a place to store all your mates codes. Which is handy.

Also, the lack of maps may be explained that there's now 50 slots to create your own, not the normal 3.

I may have to port over the 2 I did for AW:DS and re-balance them...

I am based in Japan at the present moment. I haven't tried to get my DS wireless working yet, but that will happen soon.

I'm interested because of online. Is it like Mario Kart where you can just look for games and join up or do you absolutely need friends codes.

How does online work? One off games or is it ranked.

    It is now 12:47am here.

Also, can't you play the trial maps in multiplayer?

Nah, there's a free play mode too. Not sure if it's ranked or what though.

genji: So you're 9 hours in front. Yikes. Best bet then is to catch us UK-ers in the morning, and you in the evening. :)

Edit: Not sure about trial maps either. I've not connected to the 'net with it yet because I know I'll have problems, so I'm gearing myself up towards it.

    I think my code is:

    176218 445784

When I've got 2 seconds tomorrow I'll start updating the OP with the codes (only 2 so far, but you gotta start somewhere right?!)

And no probs with connecting! ZOMG. :)

    Edit: Fixed code.

Are the US and UK versions compatible, I have a US one, as I tend to import all my DS games, and was rather shocked to see it was out in the UK the same weeks so I needn't have imported.

Anyway, my code is 137563 743356

Im guessing that they're compatible, other wifi games are aren't they?

Just had my first online match... poor barstard didn't know where the fuck to look. He made more units than me, and quit game when he was outgunned 27 to 9. I lost 5 units, he lost 34. :D

Hmm not sure they are, mines a US version and my FC has 12 numbers (same as Hoofs) yet Lutz one has 16 numbers. :(

EDIT: OOI Lutz + Lutzie = same?

Quick question - I know random matchups are limited to 10 x 10 battlefields, but can friends matches play with larger areas?

Already got a map of Europe up and playable, problem is the AI seems a little misguided. German instinct apparently is to forego domestic consolidation and the undefended France, and instead opt for a suicidal tangle with the Soviets. And no matter how many transport copters I give Italy, they ignore the north coast of Africa and bum around Greece and the Balkans doing NOTHING :(

Don't have my DS with me but will post friend code soon as. Looking forward to some gaming.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

Lutz - Go into the game, Nintendo Wifi - Friends settings (i think). Should be on the top screen :).

Each game has different friends codes.

Cheers mate. It's on the top screen of the friends roster.

What a barstard though. The guy I played last night quit on me rather than take the loss, and it's not registered as a win. :(

Edit: Your code is 1 digit missing LetsGo...
