Registered 5 years agoI thought it was nice the way the directors turned the volume up on the microphones near the Zambian bench when they took their penalties so we could hear them singing and praying. -

Registered 4 years agoI liked the way the final Zambian penalty taker was singing along as he did it.Playing all the right notes— but not necessarily in the right order.

Registered 10 years agoIt was moving tbh. They're a team so far away from what people associate with the modern day footballer. I think only Katongo, Chisamba (both of whom I particularly liked) and Mayuka play outside of Africa.
I also felt sorry for Ivory Coast as they wanted to win it for their fans who've been suffering the civil war over there.XBL: rolemodel86 PSN: Syrette86

Who knows. Only this weekend did I see some advertising (a massive banner hanging off a chopper at the beach), so sales might not be great. We have this lovely stadium just begging to be used though.
Yup. Keen for some Super 15. -

Registered 4 years agoWhat shit match to start the tournament. SA 0 - 0 Cape Verde Islands. Defended fine as per usual but can't finish. I hate making excuses for them, but there's something up with the official ball. Floaty as fuck.
Anyway, I'm watching Ghana - Congo and Mali - Niger tomorrow. Should be good. Look for the white face in the crowd, it could very well be me!

Registered 5 years agoI wouldn't be surprised if South Africa don't make it out of their group. I didn't mind the match at all, but it would have been nice if SA made an effort.
Angola v Morocco was a much better game, and at least both teams had a go.gif)
Should be better games tomorrow. -

Registered 4 years agoGreat game yesterday. Ghana 2-2 Congo. Loads of fun and although the stadium wasn't full, there was a great atmosphere. Vuvuzelas were pretty much absent - replaced by drums etc. And then there was this:

Registered 6 years agoThe Ghana game annoyed me. My countrymen should be RUNNING through every team, Barcelona-style. Instead, I see Ghana contrive to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory. It looks as if England didn't just leave us with English as our main language, but also the English ability to not win games we should. ARGHHH! -

Registered 3 years agoI'm keeping track of CAN for a promotion we're running at work, so I've got a few guys down in Africa keeping me posted on things from their end.
At the moment I've got a guy from Togo and a guy from Ivory Coast shit talking each other as they watch the match. In French. African style. Apparently you can take the sting out of the worst barb so long as you stick "my brother" on the end of every comment. In English for some reason.
I R confused. And very white I think. -
Who's on the right wing for Togo? Super quick.

That's totally what their doing. Only more sweary, which is not very helpful for my press release.
I'm not really into football in general, but even I can see that the bigger teams playing in CAN don't give a shit about it. However, some of the smaller teams are scrappy as hell. Burkina Faso yesterday were great fun, for example, even if technically they weren't that amazing.
I could do with less draws though. -
