Apple TV on the other hand looks very interesting my only beef is the price at £270 is a lot to pay just so you can give apple even more money and as always we get ripped off over here compared to the US. Given that Microsoft recently announced that the B.T vision stuff can be accessed via the 360 I am wondering what are chances of seeing apple TV on say a PS3? I'd like that not just because I would not have to fork out for the ATV box but mostly because quite frankly I already have way too many boxes under or around my TV and am not sure I want any more.

Registered 6 years agoOut of all of yesterdays announcements it is the apple TV one that interests me the most. The macbook air does look the nuts but as many have said already it is a lot money for what it is and could well be a loss leading style icon for apple. The update for the touch looks ok but not great as being honest what use is mail or maps if you are not near a hotspot? Having said that I will probably still buy the upgrade.

Well we have the untethered part but the price is still the same. No word on when we get movies over here either, could be along time if TV shows on itunes is anything to go by. -

Do any of you Apple appreciators know if there’s any rumours or likelihood of a new Apple TV anytime soon, possible incorporating a DVR or something? I’m interested in picking one up, but I have a knack of buying Apple products the day before they announce new ones.

Not heard any rumour at all but you might as well wait a couple of weeks until their big annual product announcement thingy. 26th isn't it?

Registered 10 years agoAny idea what the new features of the Apple TV might be? -
26th January, tablet announcement.
We think.
Will possibly also reveal new tv network style subscription models that will work with the tablet and apple tv. -
Doubt there'd be DVR integration, but a move to streaming subs as ed has said is likely.

Registered 10 years agoCool. A sub for movies would be right up my alley, although hopefully it's for d/ls as well as streaming. -

Registered 10 years agoWill I be able to use this tablet for games? I assume the tablet just refers to the fact that it has a touch screen that can be used for input when in tablet mode.
Tablets still have keyboards right?Come and get it cumslingers!

Registered 7 years agoAFAIK, its just going to be a glorified iPod touch.
And if it had a keyboard, it would be a laptop. Unless you mean virtual, then yes, its got a iPhone style UI.---------------------------------------------------------

The next Apple TV revealed: cloud storage and iPhone OS on tap... and a $99 price tag

If you thought that Apple's foray into the world of home entertainment died with the last iteration of the Apple TV, you're quite wrong. A tip we've received -- which has been confirmed by a source very close to Apple -- details the outlook for the next version of the Apple TV, and it's a doozy. According to our sources, this project has been in the works long before Google announced its TV solution, and it ties much more closely into Apple's mobile offerings. The new architecture of the device will be based directly on the iPhone 4, meaning it will get the same internals, down to that A4 CPU and a limited amount of flash storage -- 16GB to be exact -- though it will be capable of full 1080p HD (!). The device is said to be quite small with a scarce amount of ports (only the power socket and video out), and has been described to some as "an iPhone without a screen." Are you ready for the real shocker? According to our sources, the price-point for the device will be $99. One more time -- a hundred bucks.

Registered 10 years agoIt's still rumour and speculation at this stage, and if anything like the iPad, we'll be rumouring and speculating about it for a couple of years yet

I hope it's true, I've come close to buying an ATV so many times.
