I've not really watched anything today. Hetty Wainwright was on before which was easy going TV. That fella out of Lord of The Rings was on it. The hobbit from my hometown of Stockport!

Most shops here in Ireland won't be open tomorrow, St. Stephens Day. Sales start on the 27th, anyone know of any good sales online retailers are having?

I'm not really keen on online shopping myself. HMV have had some good stuff instore over the years around this time of year. As have woolworths!

Anywhere else I should look besides Game and Gamestation?

I ordered Witcher for 16.99, ET:QW SE for 13.99, from HMV and EoJ for 35 from gameplay.

I also ordered SMG last week from Asda, may have to cancel that if I find a better deal.

most "shops'" re-open on the 27th. as for furniture and DIY shops, they tend to open on the 26th...

some shops are open on the 26th but as the bus services are pretty much non existent it would be quite unreasonable for the shops to expect the staff to still get to work, dontcha think....

i think Scotland & Ireland seem to be different from England though and are have more traditional values, wheras England seems to be getting more lax with it's values as far as opening on the 26th goes...

Some of the newer shopping centres open on the 26th as it is sometimes written into their contracts, but then again theese places tend to be aimed at people with cars quite often.

England can't show Christmas values without fear of being deemed racist.

Amen. When I used to work in retail it was always the nice god fearing whities with little johnny who wanted a new N64 game who came in on Boxing Day.

Now, I really fancy a takeaway but I dont have a menu to hand. I hope one the local chinese/indian establishments are open otherwise its a long walk in the cold for nothing :(

afaik, the French have over 3000 words for 'dirty'. And 18,000 for 'sweaty'. It's like the Inuits and 'snow'.

Does anyone else think shops should be shut on Boxing Day? Seems harsh making staff come in, they probably can't really enjoy Christmas Day.
