Blood Bowl is absolutely superb. I've played nothing else since getting it on Wednesday.

    You and me both!

PSP and DS are being released on the 18th September I think but the 360 version is being released after for some reason with not even so much as a predicted date.

I have been waiting far to long for this to come out.

Worth the wait if you are a fan. It's magic.

Xbox version still had some TCR issues last time I saw it, so it's probably a few weeks behind the other versions.

Oh, I am a fan and even though the wait is terrible i'm sure the day I get my hands on a copy there will be very little that could wipe the smile from my face.
A good chance the GF will forget what my face looks like if I have half as much fun with the 360 version as I did the board game.

I wish they'd give a reason as to why it's been delayed. There aren't even listings for this version on retail sites. What are THQ playing at? :(
I only play exclusive games on the Xbox, so if it was being delayed to accommodate a PS3 release, I wouldn't mind all that much. :) (even though I wouldn't be able to play it any quicker, however...)

If the PC version is anything to go by then it will be the matchmaking and online systems causing troubles.

But why can't they let the people who are interest know?
It can't take much to write a couple of lines as to a reason every other platform is getting it before the 360.
There are a number of games that I would like from now untill Christmas and this was top of my list as I cant afford all of them but after being left in the dark I may have to change what I thought was priority.

I have seen absolutely nothing about the PSP version anywhere.

Is it meant to be much cop?

    That looks diabolical.

What's the point of a real-time mode exactly?

I suppose real time is there to entice the console crowd?

I've not even looked at real time myself. The turn based game is absolutely superb once you get past the steep learning curve and the "Waaah im failing because it's all random dice rolls" (which isn't strictly true).

My main problem is the lack of decent presentation and polish. They could have really gone to town on the attack animations etc.

Is there any official confirmation of it coming out in November?? :)

Can't wait for the 'real' mode (turn-based), going to be great to set up a league with my old BB crowd as we all live in different cities and never play anymore.

Does the game come with the Living Rulebook for you to refer to?

Anyone know if the portable versions are any good? The PC version looks ace, but this would be great commute fodder for me.

Probably not. You can download it from the intertubes though. For a bunch of money grubbing bastards, GW are quite good at providing content on the web for free.

Yeah, have my own printed out copy :) Was just wondering how easy it was for newcomers to the game to get into it and understand the rules.

Having played both the DS and PSP versions, I would say the PSP is the one to go for if you can. It feels pretty much like a graphically stripped down version of the PC one, and is great. The DS one is fine if you are a Blood Bowl fan, but the camera only has 2 modes, one far too close, one far too zoomed out, and it just feels a bit rougher around the edges.

As I say, if it is your only option, it works - but the PSP one is the best of the two.

I've played the DS version and advise you should save very often, particularly if you're a bashing team and the opposition are dropping like flies.

I was playing as Dwarf versus a Skaven team which was almost entirely comprised of Skinks, so unsurprisingly was caning their team; a few deaths and loads of injuries. Then ran in a touchdown late in the second half to go 1-0 up...and it crashed on the kickoff formation screen.

I had a browse through some forums and there seems to be a 100% crash bug if one of the teams has hardly any players to field at a kickoff. :( Did they not have any QA??

Cheers for the replies guys, PSP version it is.

I was looking at the DS screenshots, and they looked quite confusing too me- they could have done a 2d map of the board rather than isometric and I would have been happy!

Yep, the isometric map on the DS really doesn't work. It just looks a pixelated mess.

Plus selecting a character on the far side of Big Guys like a Kroxigor is hit and miss, even using the zoomed in view.

Probably some marketing berk who demanded the isometric view, since obviously 3D is better than 2D. :/

I read this morning in MCV that the 360 version is out on 27th of this morning. If true that is excellent news.

Edit: On the chance that it is - pre-orderd :-)
