Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure continues to struggle at retail with less than 35,000 in sales.

    Gutted for Capcom.

Let's hope the delayed European release helps it out a bit.

WOW, SMG really did well over there huh.

Zak & Wiki deserves much better, though its genre obviously doesn't help it.

What do the HW sales tell about the PS3? It's last, outsold even by PS2, though obviously sold quite well considering its usual appearance.

    DS is a phenomenon.

27.7% sales of Assassins Creed on the PS3.
22.0% sales of Call of Duty 4 on the PS3.

    To me that's interesting.

Sounds about right considering the console's market share, no?

Nice to see some good games doing well. SMG, Mass effect, CoD, Halo 3 and Creed deserve the good sales.

Creed might not be the greatest game ever but it tried something new and its good to see it got rewards. Mass effect could have been better saleswise but for the genre I think it still did OK.

What does tell a story is Guitar Hero III sales though!

PS2 version outsold the second version, which surprisingly is the Wii and not the 360 one, by 2:1.

This tells a lot to me both about the PS2 and the future of the Wii ar the same time.

People prefer to buy games with online multiplayer on the 360, I don't think that's unexpected.

Oh shucks, I guess Mario Galaxy will just have to settle for eventually outselling all the other games released this month and most likely this year in the long run. Seriously, do you ever think when you post, or are you like some automatic machine that pulls pre-prepared from a list? :p

In other news, go DS! \o/ The true successor to the PS2! Huzzah! What's cool is its software sales are probably real spread out all over the place between tons of different games, as usual, spreading the wealth everywhere.

You'd think it would be selling better in Japan then? =(

Stupid fucking world. Hand them one of the best games ever released and it pushes just average numbers.

Really, how? You really think CoD4 or Assassin's Creed or going to have as long as sales as Galaxy? You realize that around January or February of this year Sunshine was still selling well on the GAMECUBE, there, right? Which is why when people get all disappointed at out of gate sales, I'm not particularly worried that it won't eventually get all the sales it deserves.

I think it'll be like Japan: those who wanted it, got it at launch or thereabouts.

Brace yourself for next months figures.

Gamecube was a different target audience

Mario sales should stay strong as Wii owners find there's no other games for it.

Wii owners don't care about games in general. Wii Sports and Brain Training etc. Look at the Zak and Wiki sales.

Well, I don't think I need to brace myself for anything. At this point, Mario Galaxy has sold roughly 2 million worldwide. I'd be happy with that, but there are of course, people who want to sell more based on its quality.

So whether or not it shows in top 10 next month isn't really important. After all, you can't see Mario Sunshine long-lasting sales by looking at the top 10 either and you can't see either until you wait.

I remember people saying that FFX was something of a disappointment when it came out, but over the years its now at 8 million worldwide. Games like that come early in the generation and have a reputation for quality just sell and sell.

And I'm not sure what you mean by Japan, the game has doubled its first week's take here over the following weeks and looks to do much more than that over the holidays.

Either way Mario Galaxy will have sales due to its fantastic quality one way or another. People who are impatient to see it kind of prove something or other shouldn't be so. The game will get the sales it truly deserves in the end.

No-one's disputing all that. You said it will outsell everything this month, I said it won't. Now you say sales don't matter too much.

    A simple, "You're probably right morriss" would've sufficed! ;)

DS and PSP lacking software sales because it's so stupidly easy to pirate on the things. Good job the hardware is sold for a profit really.
