How about not sharing shit like that with the class, especially from The S*n of all places. Christ.

I'd have thought it was pretty clear what the story is from the URL. Don't click it if you don't want to read it.

And the Sun may be a rag, but at least it's not an outright scary propaganda outlet like the Mail.

No, they just like to publish lies and gave the consequences later.

I didn't read it because I thought it was pretty clear what the story, and source, is from the URL...

I'm questioning why anyone would share a story like that.

Indeed, the thread has a theme which is generally interesting or unusual stories rather than exploitative tabloid crap.

Fair enough. I didn't think it was exploitative though - they didn't hack anyone's phone or make any of this happen, it's based on police reports I think.

Thankfully, it's certainly an unusual story, and I found it curious, if not outright interesting. I didn't have a problem with it being posted here fwiw.

All clickbait journalism was gradually honing its craft to give us this one, amazing article.

Jesus. I'm seeing this kind of shit journalism more and more now, even in the bloody guardian. I know this is a puff piece, but isn't there some journalistic integrity that stops people from writing grossly untrue headlines that don't match the article? However I'm not sure what I'm expecting from media today when reporting the news is just copying something you saw on twitter.

Indeed. I always think of the journalists with things like. I imagine them as small children, dreaming of being journalists when they’re older, the next bob Woodward or whatever. Then they end up writing made up shyte purely to generate about 0.5 quid for a few clicks.

Sean Parker, the first president of Facebook and essentially one of the key people in its establishment, decries the negative impact of social media on society and children, admitting that it was designed to be addictive but that they had no idea what problems it would cause when they first created it.
