What value does this news story have to anyone? It doesn't educate. It doesn't entertain. It informs, but I feel like a lesser person for having got as far as I did.

And I suppose you are as successful a Page Three model as she?

No, thankfully I've been able to find success in life without getting my tits out.

I imagine they'd be somewhat of an impediment to success.

Well, we'll never know now, will we? You might be denying the White Van Men of this world a bosom that could be truly legendary.

What on earth made them think that this Skullcracker chap wouldn't do a runner and try to hold up another bank? What's that definition of insanity again....

He's also got something like 13 concurrent life sentences running. How incredibly efficient is that? They should add another now, to teach the bugger.

He was given 13 life sentences and 13 5 year sentences to be served concurrently. I really, really didn't understand how the judge then said "he must serve at least 8 years before being considered for parole". I understood 1/2 a life sentence was 12 years, so 13 of them, plus all the other 5 year sentences should have meant he was in prison about 200 years before being considered for parole.

Hopefully the idiot absconding and then trying to rob a building society has got himself locked up for the rest of his natural life.... and some.

Whoever recommended him for parole obviously screwed up.

What a cunt. If the NHS wants to treat people with water it'd be cheaper for them to get it out of a tap.

Black Taxis to cause congestion in London to protest against uber:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-27317164

Wankers, I love uber, used it in 4 countries, treat their customers with respect, low fess, convenient, instant and no dealing with cash. Fucking awesome. Black taxis need to move wit hthe times, half of them still don't even accept card and the cars smell of farts.

How is this any different to what Addison Lee have been doing for ages?

I've found it's cheaper than the Addison Lee app, I tend to use both though. That, I can use it abroad. Was really surprised it worked in Cape Town. They give you free bottles of water and chocolate!

Also, ease of use. The uber app is leagues ahead of the competition. You see vehicles around you (like Hailo), you get an accurate ETA, and you see the car coming to you, with the car description and picture of driver. You get a text when it's there.

Mmm. It's hard to have much sympathy for taxi firms when they charge so much and often give poor service. Someone is doing what we do, but better and cheaper? Why bother competing when we can just throw our toys out the pram.

In Brussels the legistlator had them banned. Rightly so imo.
If you want to drive a taxi or run a taxi company, there's loads of red tape.
Licensing, insurance, permits for your driver, etc.

As a ride-sharing app, Uber would be fine but once you make it payable, you're offering taxi services without complying with any of the regulations that apply to taxi companies.

Christ, that Turkish chap actually killed two women (and one guy if I read it right).

Killed his own cousin/wife + her lover. Went to prison. Got amnesty.
Had an affair with a married woman, killed her in "self defence". Went to prison a second time. Got amnesty a second time.

    Sounds like quite the catch.

Convicted murderer Bernie Tiede has to live with Richard Linklater as part of the conditions of his bail

If you want to know more about this very weird story of a funeral home worker who befriended an elderly woman and ended up shooting her, then read this very good article.

That's a touch harsh. It's unlikely to be his job to vet and edit the tracks they have on the system to play.

    Scapegoat.

Reading between the lines, I reckon he might've just taken this as an opportunity to retire. He got offered his job back but says he didn't want it for health reasons, so probably just took the opportunity to pack it in.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

Jay-Z takes a beating from Solange. Was on the news this morning but was pretty sure it didn't warrant it's own thread.
