Can't link on my phone but John Cleese is in hot water after breaking his month long Twitter silence to make a Oscar Pistorius joke. Something about Oscar's best defense is that he was absolutely legless at the time of the shooting.

Perhaps this does deserve its own thread. First appearance tomorrow and funny business is looking likely.

Its the same thing that happened in tunguska, fact fans. A meteor falls and then explodes before it hits the ground.

Apparently, it happens more than you would think, at least once a year.

Yeah, the Tunguska airburst was quite a special one though wasn't it? Lots of fragments at high-speed detonating in the air.

The video on the Sun page shot from the car is crazy.

Hmm, I'd assumed the 'explosions' here were actually the reverse sonic booms as the now fragmented meteor parts decelerated through the sound barrier. But on the news just now they reported that it was unsure whether the damage was caused by the meteor exploding, or it hitting the ground - no mention of sonic booms at all.

On seeing that headline, I wondered for a moment what the famous manufacturers of brown sauce had done to upset Mr Checker

In other news, a slimy Tory lord who got done for fiddling his expenses successfully sued the police for a separate arrest related to other expenses dubiousness, and wins. I don't know the full details of this, but my first instinct is that it smells awful dodgy to me.
