I know there's a thread for homebrew, but it's all very complicated...

So I have a PSP Slim and I'm looking to do some homebrew on it. Could someone explain how to do this? I've heard you need a Pandora Battery or whatever, and a Magic Memory stick, and I'm not sure if I need to install custom firmware on top of that. I just want to play a few PSX games, and any help with doing that would be much appreciated, since I can't get my head around all these terms and things.

I just want to know, in plain English how I can get PSX games running on my PSP (via ISOs, not that crummy PSStore) and whether it'll muck up my Slim for regular use.

Oh, and all the PSX games I want to play I do actually own IRL, so there's no need to release the hounds. Thanks in advance for any help.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but the main thread at www.eurogamer.net/forum_thread_posts.php?thread_id=63342&category_id=25 is really where you need to start. Put a few hours by, read and digest. There really is no lazy way around if you want to avoid bricking your psp.

The forums at http://pspslimhacks.com/ and http://www.psp-hacks.com/ also have plenty of info. But really, you need to do the homework on this stuff, unless you get a pre-modded unit or someone to do it for you.

    Good luck!

I'll just tag along with this thread. I am thinking of getting a PSP so just one question. What video formats does it support unmodded and which ones when modded?

    Valar morghulis.

Well, I can handle the info on the homebrew and stuff, but unless I try it myself I don't really know what he hell is going on. And I can't do that, because the bastards at royal mail haven't delivered my memory stick yet.

    But thanks for the info.
