Quick cross-training update from me. I've been doing my core/back strengthening program for the last 3 weeks and have been doing a daily routine of stretches targeting my lower back and hamstrings.|
I've been delighted with the results. I was riding over Christmas and all the pains I had been getting were gone, which was encouraging.
Went back to learn the second half of the program last night and they did a position check on the bike. The result is I've been able to raise the saddle 1.5cm, drop the bars 2cm and get a lot more tilt in my pelvis. That'll let me use my glutes more and it still feels comfy.
I'm getting a free remeasure on my joint mobility and flexibility in about 6 weeks, so I'll be interested to see how much my body has adapted.
I feel like a new rider on the bike, which makes me very happy.
