I apologize for being a bit random here (I haven't watched Kick Ass), but I can't believe how many times I've seen these exact words uttered about the action film of the day.
But what does it mean? Does this mean that any film that establishes from the start that it's going to be a bit stupid should in fact be regarded as brilliant (because it did a very good job of being stupid)? This just does my head in. A film is a film. You enjoy it or you don't. All this bullshit about it being the viewer's fault that he didn't enjoy a certain film (be it Citizen Kane or Transformers) is extremely ridiculous.
(I probably should have posted this in the rant thread.)
Anyway... Wages of Fear ... Still not sure yet / 100
To be honest, it's the weakest Clouzot film that I've seen. Not as tense as Diabolique, not as smart as Le corbeau (in my opinion, one of the most underrated films ever). Still, it's pretty interesting and the oil pool scene is an absolute classic.
