@scuffpuppies For almost all the hostage situations, using an EM grenade works like a charm. Use the slice mechanic straight away when they're stunned and your close enough, then guide the other enemies away from the hostage if needed and it should be fine. Only place it doesn't work easily is after the fight with Sundowner, there you'll see 2 guards and a big ole tank-like enemy that has infra-red sensors. You'll need to sneak up to em quick using the vehicles in the level as cover and then you can do the EM grenade trick.
