Although, if doubling up provides 80% boost at 50% cost it might still be worth doing, especially as crossfire/dual utilisation is much easier than it was on the old SH2's.
Had Saturn had that setup and been cheaper than PS at launch, maybe it might have done better. It was largely the inefficiencies of 3D that really killed it spec wise.
