For me, I thought the conference was excellent. It's convinced me that Sony has enough to offer next gen. Though I'm not pre ordering yet until I see what Microsoft have to offer. Though I don't see how they can top that (in terms of games) but I could be wrong.
I'm surprised by people reacting so negatively to it though. It was a little dull presentation wise, but I was surprised about how much they revealed about the games. Was expecting a heavier emphasis on hardware and past hardware (sales etc).
The only disappointing thing for me was not showing the actual hardware. I understand that they want to do the whole 'big reveal' at E3 but if that's the case why reveal so much now? Just get the thing out there now and then focus on the details at E3, maybe make the games the main event rather than a reveal.
Also the lack of any reassurance that pre owned games will not be blocked. I still don't see them doing it (but I think MS will in some way). They would have said something by now if they were. Though the saying nothing still leaves the possibility. Not showing the hardware may give away clues of this also which might be why they didn't show it. I still don't believe it'll happen though.
At this stage I'm unchanged. Is previously decided that I am going for Sony's console next generation. But I still refuse to buy a console before its been out a year. It's just not smart to be an early adopter anymore imo.
