Telling publisher/developers the specifications of the easy mainstream parts with an SDK, doesn't stop the platform holder having an expanded configuration of the system. It is no different to a PC with a integrated GPU being content to use Intel HD4000 for games, when it might also have two GTX 690 parked in the SLI slots for doing folding calculations.
Wow please don't stop this is hilarious. Hiding the true power of a machine from developers and publishers? 2x690s for folding calculations? When would a PC be content to user onboard graphics for demanding games when it has (two) dedicated GPU's.

Read your last page of posts, you've already come up with several different and often contradictory reasons why this couldn't be true. And yet your clawing desperation makes it beautifully obvious that you know that it is.
I'll put it plainly. If this is really all they've got for next-gen games, and no Cell BE even for b/c, then this console will put them out of business, like the Dreamcast did for Sega, which I can't believe Kaz is going to do.

Their only option is to hold off releasing for 18months more, to improve their finances, to improve their next console offering. This will bomb in Japan like the Vita, will be badly received in the US Europe without b/c, and will destroy Playstation's reputation.
Do you really think the average consumer gives a shit about the Cell? PS4 may fail but not because it lacks a Cell procesor. I can't believe you still believe the PS3 hype.
It isn't just about the Cell.

Ask yourself this simple question, if AMD launched a console, how many traditional Playstation/Nintendo console gamers(that own a PC) would buy one?

I'll tell you how many, the same as bought the xbox1 if they were lucky. Sony selling someone else's PC laptop CPU/GPU technology does not make it a Playstation.

Nintendo were properly warned about the WiiU and have failed to impress with it in sales or wow crowds with the gaming experience, or promise of what is to come. Microsoft are equally failing to listen, releasing some kinect-centric experience, and Sony were the last hope to reignite the gaming sector.

Looks like Sony are probably going out of business and the entire games industry is looking at another crash, if this information is really true.
