I've never had trouble with my hull once my shields pop. Don't get me wrong, I did once, but after messing about with my powers there's certainly enough hull heals and boosts to keep you fightingMaybe me having an Engi Captain helps, what with it adding Miracle Worker as a very handy power. Plus I think the Borg set has bonus hull regen.
