I finally completed DS recently (and have been lurking in this thread) after abandoning it last year woot. I'd completed Demon's Souls a few times but somehow I ballsed up my build on this and it got too tough as a result.
Anyway, I've been invading and being invaded a bunch tonight for the first time and there was this one chap who I invaded and him me back a few times in the depths that made for some confusing encounters.
Basically he kept dropping items on the ground which I thought were some kind of trap and we kept doing silly gestures at each other. It turns out he must have been trying to do some sort of trade since he was dropping slabs on the ground! I sent him a message saying was that an accident (after I killed him) but he didn't reply but he invaded again about 20mins later so I unequipped my weapon and dropped the slab back on the ground for him to take back.
Thing is though that he dropped a bunch more titanite on the floor and pointed at it so I picked it up. Finally he dropped 1 humanity which I picked up then he one-shotted me as I did so. I can only assume that was so I could revive myself after?! Either way I had 400000 souls on me so I guess he must have done alright out of it
