Well the good news is that my joypad isn't fucked, the menu is just super shit with analogue sticks (tried a bunch of games and t'was just dandy). Turns out if you do it on the d-pad it glitches too :D

Bad news is the bunch of games are all pretty shite, Nintendo deserve a very harsh reality check if they think they can up the RRP to £49.99 then release the likes of Nintendoland and yet-another-mario-platformer. SuperMeatBoy was better and that cost pocket-money, and I could find a better iOS alternative for most of the Nintendoland games and still have enough money for blow and hookers.

Then you have third party stuff, which in everycase has been technically inferior and blam - more than full price again on the Wii U.

The online stuff is just dreadful, the technology for the pad itself is actually rather special - but the rest of it has been developed in complete isolation, has anybody at Nintendo even tried PSN or Xbox Live? Because if they did they'd feel ashamed of releasing this in the state it's in. I have to wait longer just to go into the settings than I do to get into a game on other systems and no amount of Brian Eno eque music makes that acceptable.
