Here's a thought. I already gave some inflammatory posts about this in random Wii U articles on EG (depends on my mood, what can I say), but has anyone else noticed how much bile is spewed over the Wii U on all these American sites? Like just for shits and giggles, check the current Sidemission headlines referring to the Wii U on Gametrailers. It's either blatantly negative or it has a negative spin to something positive. Same with Kotaku and other US sites, check the collection of Wii U articles for it.
Now, of course, I'm not saying the complaints are invalid, but according to the US sites there's pretty much NOTHING fucking good about this console. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it just STINKS of them pushing US hardware and putting down anything that comes from outside their country (watch them gleefully push IOS and herald it as the second coming of mobile gaming, while it only has a handful of games worth any sort of mention). Same thing for reviews, there's a gigantic discrepancy between EU and US review scores.
Now again, I could just be reading too much into it, but let's keep this one in mind for when the Nextbox launches. It will no doubt have it's problems as all new hardware launches do, but will that get a "What's Been Going Wrong With The Nextbox: A Guide" as well from Gametrailers then? I personally think not.
I'm not buying this console until there's some games I really want, but the amount of crap spewed out against it from these guys, only makes me want it more. Even if just for the soul reason of testing ZombiU myself to see if it deserves scores like a 4.5 out of 10.
So either way, any thoughts? Am I just talking shit and overthinking it, or is there some truth to this?
