For what it's worth, there are some bloody brilliant Free to Play games out there that don't require a penny. The ones that do it well let you have useless cosmetic upgrades or perhaps early access to certain things, but it's never required. It can be a fantastic, very profitable business model that entirely removes the monetary barrier for entry.
Sure, I agree that when it's done wrong it's not good. If it keeps reminding you "BUY STUFF!" when you're trying to get into it, that's not very professional or wise. But that certainly isn't ALL F2P games.
