Thanks fellas. I tried the Spec Ops: The Line demo last night and was getting 25-30fps (a little choppy sometimes, but perfectly playable) with the resolution down to 1024x786 with everything on very high etc, and then the same result fps-wise with it set to native resolution (1600x900) but with settings on medium (with some other stuff turned off). I couldn't really decide which looked better, seeing as I have never had to think too hard on these things being a console gamer.
I will just keep experimenting and try all the options out until I find a happy medium.
FINAL question (I hope)... do PC games in general ever have a limit as far as fps is concerned, or is the sky the limit depending on your setup? I know console games are sometimes locked to 30fps. I just don't want to be obsessing with exceeding 30fps and going for closer to 60fps, not knowing that the game can't actually go higher than that anyway.
