Just in case people want more Dark souls type of experiences and are planning on getting a Wii U -

"ZombiU is the Dark Souls of zombie games’. You’re going to hear a lot of people say that after the Wii U launches in November. It’s absolutely true, as the game is brutally difficult, and makes no attempt to coddle players as they wade miserably through post apocalyptic London."

    Hands on article
This is what's worrying me about devs feeding off the success of From's Souls franchise. That other devs will misunderstand the meticulous game design, the perfectly balanced risk reward mechanics, and the ability to teach you to play the game properly without just rushing in and just read it as: "That's game's hard, that must be why it's so popular. So let's just make our game punishingly hard as well".

That's precisely what that quote makes me think of how ZombieU will turn out. Hard for the sake of it without truly understanding what makes the Souls games so special.

There are parts in other games which I absolutely despise because I found them so frustratingly hard, and yet I love the Soul games. That suggest it's about more than just difficulty, but the way that difficulty is designed and utilised in conjunction with the gameplay mechanics. And there are very, very few devs who I trust to get that right.
