I think when people bitch about Moffat, they forget how utterly awful most of RTDs episodes/series were! The shitty Olympic episode Fear Her, Jesus/Yoda Doctor series finale, the Daleks/Cyberman war, any episode with Rose Tyler's fucking mum, the alternative universe reboot of the Cybermen, the farting Slitheen, the Titanic in fucking Space with Kylie Minogue, the shitty Soltaran 2-parter where they try to poison they world with cars, the Stolen Earth, where Earth is moved across the galaxy!!
Yes some of Moffat's/Smith's episode can be a little hit and miss (personally I'm not a massive fan of the Silurian or The Flesh episodes from last year) but it's massively improved over RTDs stuff.
I think Moffat's done an amazing job running Doctor Who for the past few years. Yes some of the convoluted story arcs have been a little too much but he has delivered exactly what I wanted from Doctor Who and will be hugely missed when he goes
