You're assumptions about older people are so ludicrous, and so typical of our western society. And being so widespread they are self fulfilling, if you think like that, you start to get like that. What about that 80 year old gold miner in the US bounding around the rocks in the mountains. Why. Because there was no dickhead around telling him he should be going downhill. As for it being socially acceptable, well from a non gamers pov it will never be acceptable past the age of 12. But from a gamers pov I remember when some 40 year old guy went into a shop to buy PS1 Doom for himself and I thought that was really cool.
