The way I'm playing at the moment my custom server would ban all weapons, and any form of violence. It'd be 24 players happily walking together through the ruined landscape, throwing happy packs and occasionally messaging "R U OK??" to each other.
I hate Close Quarters. It is horribly, masochistically addictive though. Just one more beating..
