This week is Red Alert 2 week (again) for me.
I fricking used to love RTS games; Dune 2(000) Red Alert 1 and 2, Age of Empires 2, Rise of Nations, I played them a lot.
I tried a load of 3D RTS but I didn't like any of them. For some reason the camera is way to close and you can only zoom IN, not out. (why have 3D in the first place then) And also there is a tendency to stray away from base building and more about dynamic warfare. Plus they are to complicated or have hero/commander units which I do not like.
What I'm looking for is a game like Red Alert 2 with the same or more focus on base building. I like putting up walls, designing my city, add turrets, etc. I also like a Scifi setting.
I played total Annihilation and Starcraft (2) but couldn't get in to them.
I played the Settlers 2 remake, Dawn of War, Company of Heroes, Sim City 4 etc. etc.
I NEED a good base building (2D) RTS!
